Udoete's Diary Game 28/06/2025: Engaging in environmental sanitation

Hello great Steemians! Hoping you are doing great! Once again I come to you with an interesting story trusting you will enjoy it. It's about the environmental sanitation I engaged in today. In Nigeria, Once every month precisely last Saturday, all citizens are expected to be involved in environmental sanitation which is an exercise to keep our surroundings clean and tidy as they say cleanliness is next to Godliness. In strict adherence to this standing order and law, my family woke up early this morning for this observance.

Usually, this exercise begins by 7am and ends by 10pm. During this time, movements of people and vehicles are restricted. For complete compliance, security personnel do their usual patrol so as to apprehend anyone who refuses to comply. Such individuals are taken to environmental court. If found guilty, there will have to pay commensurate fine or be jailed for a few months

Suffice to say that apart from serving its objective of keeping the environment clean and green, environmental sanitation affords one the opportunity to engage in exercising the body which is highly encouraged by doctors to keep fit and enjoy long life. This is very true because by the time I was done with today's exercise, i was already sweating profusely. Therefore, i egg on everyone to be actively involved in monthly sanitation as its pros far outweigh its cons if any at all.
