The Elephant Who Painted the Moon

In the heart of the Savanna, it was so deep, where the grass shimmered held under the sun and the night hummed with the songs of crickets, lived an elephant named Jack. Unlike other elephants in his herd, Jack wasn't fascinated by fruit trees or waterholes; instead, he was enchanted by the moonlight.

Every night, Jack would lift his trunk and stare at the glowing circle in the sky. Most of the time it looks proud and full, other times shy like a silver and thin whisper behind drifting. Jack wondered why it changed so soon.

"Was it sad? Sick? Or it was because of loneliness."

After a storm one evening, Jack found a broken pot of white clay close to the riverbank. The clay gleamed in the moonlight cool and soft to the touch. An idea ranked in his mind.

Jack, dipped his trunk into the clay and raised it towards the sky. With careful swings, he flung spots of the milky paste upward. The other animals on the riverbank laughed hard at Jack. The zebras on the riverbank said, Look at Jack. "He thinks he can touch the sky.
