SC S25W6: Drawing my Anime character
I can't express how thrilled I am right now to have finished this drawing challenge from week one until now. It has been a wonderful experience, a great exercise, and a valuable learning opportunity. I never thought I could learn to draw and improve over time. I'm grateful to the teacher for all the feedback and lessons over the past six weeks!
For this final week, following the teacher's instructions, I chose to create something based on realistic animes from week 5 of the challenge. Her name is Inkara, a painter who pours out her soul through art.
Inkara, The Silent Painter
Inkara never spoke, but her paintings whispered more than words ever could. Living in a quiet seaside village, she painted with ink made from crushed stardust and stormwater. Each canvas held emotions, grief, love, memories drawn from the hearts of strangers.
One day, a traveler asked, “Can you paint yourself?”
Inkara paused. She had painted hundreds of souls, but never her own. That night, she stood before a mirror and painted.
What she saw stunned her: a girl woven from shadows and starlight, fragile yet fierce.
She wept softly.
From then on, Inkara’s art grew brighter. People said her paintings now carried not just truth but hope.
And for the first time, Inkara smiled.
To create my character, I used some essential materials, and without them, I doubt I could have completed my work. Here we have;
- Pencils (2B and HB)
- A4 Paper
- Eraser
- A ruler
Step one
Ruling out the spaces I needed for my drawing, I started with sketching out the head to get the shape that I needed. Then I went further to mark out the neck and eyes, of course the eyes is always the peak so I made sure to give it my best shut.
Step two
I continued with the hair because I needed to get a real look like shojo anime and I made it happen. I added the ear and proceeded with the completion of the hair.
Step three
Just as the character's image keeps popping up my head, I completed the hair by adding some parts of the curvy hair, making it fall and flow like the real hair. Since my character has her clothes on, I sketched out the sleeves and the coller then I adjusted where necessary.
Step four

Moving forward I sketched the hand and the completion of her sleeve, puting in place the necessary adjustments on her dress and fixing her colouring brush and her colour board in her hand as a painter she is.
Step five
Here, I began to make my sketch visible and more realistic to show the right proportion of all my sketches. Starting from the hair which is the beauty of every young girl to her body shape and clothes. It became more real and visible.
Step six

I started off with the eyes by shading some parts dark and other parts light to get the right look in her eyes showing off the eye balls. I went further to shade the back part of the hair and the dotted nose and the mouth. Then I shaded the bold tie.
Step seven
The shading continues as I began to give some lighter shades and dark shades to the upper part of her dress and some part of her body. This lighter and dark shades made it looked more amazing.
Completing my shading, I shaded the down part of her dress and combined it with a lighter shade to correspond with the the upper side. The hair wasn't left out as I went ahead to shade it out combining the shades to have an amazing result.
Step eight
And finally I rounded the shading making sure all parts and sides are clearly visible. I shaded and adjusted the background to highlight my character. Without much work, I added my username and date to my drawing showing the owner and date of production.
It was a very nice time in the drawing challenge class. I hope we meet again in the next season. Thank you so much Sir for this great opportunity!
It wouldn't be so bad to invite my friends @ruthjoe @pandora2010 and @eliany to show off their drawing skills.
¡Hola!
