Role of irrigation on modern Agriculture.

It is a privilege to be here once again.

The availability of water is not to be neglected in our everyday life as humans. Humans need water; we are can say the same for the plants and animals around.

The idea of irrigation is to make this gift of nature (water) available to a particular place but in this context and in this post, we are mentioning its importance in agriculture and on the farm.
It could get provided to the plants, crops and farmlands through built-in infrastructures or other automatic methods.

Irrigation on modern agriculture is, but goes beyond just providing water.
It serve as a means of conserving water too.
The method of farming in the olden days is quite different from now; and can say more tedious with the means of getting water being an issue.
In the olden days, water has to be fetched from streams, lakes or other natural water bodies into cans or containers before being made available to the plants.
It must have been quite a hassle!

In contrast to the irrigation system in the modern agriculture now, through some infrastructure, water is made easily available.
It could be through the sprinkler method , where water is sprayed over a broad landscape using pipes. The sprinkler is placed in the middle of the farmland as it sprays water in a controlled manner over the land and crops.
There are other methods and ways, and this includes flood irrigation, drip irrigation, surface irrigation and so on.

In modern agriculture, the practiced irrigation systems promotes the high yield of food crops. The easier the method of water availability, the faster and better the growth of the plants and production of crops.
The sense of knowing how easy to get water on the farm is , boosts the farmers morale to work more on the farm as their work is made faster and more efficient without having to worry about sourcing for water from miles.

Irrigation generally is with the aim of making water available on farmlands; and it is more efficient in the modern agriculture as the methods and types varies. In contrast to how water is provided on the farm in the olden days, it is much more easier in modern agriculture.
