The beauty of lotus in the nature of Bengal is always amazing. Even if there is a small pond next to the house, a lotus flower blooming there gives a heavenly look to the surrounding environment. This lotus flower is not only a symbol of beauty, but is also closely related to our environment, culture and lifestyle.

Description of lotus flower:

Lotus flower is an aquatic plant that usually grows in still or slow-moving water. Its large, green leaves float on the water and the flower rises above the water through the stem. The pink, white or light purple lotus flower blooms in the morning and closes in the afternoon. It is not only eye-catching, but its smell is also captivating.

Lotus flower in the pond of the house:

Suddenly, a few lotus flowers bloom in the water of the pond behind the house. First one, then gradually a few more flowers start blooming. When I wake up in the morning, seeing these flowers, my mind feels refreshed. A lotus blooming in a pond is like a silent poem of nature. Such a scene in a rural environment makes you forget the daily fatigue.

Environmental importance:

The lotus tree purifies the pond water and serves as a shelter for many small animals. It helps control the temperature of the water and maintains balance in the pond ecosystem.

Lotus flowers are widely used in Bengali literature, art, and religious rituals. In Hinduism and Buddhism, the lotus flower is considered a symbol of purity. Again, the national flower of Bangladesh is also the lotus.

A lotus flower blooming in a pond at home is like a silent poem of nature. It is not only important in terms of beauty, but also in terms of environmental, cultural, and mental peace. We should preserve this natural resource and leave it for future generations. Because, a drop of water and a lotus flower—both of these are incomparable gifts of nature.
