Application for Steemit Challenge Season 26| Agro Green & Environment
Hello!
It is another moment to make this application post for the Steemit Learning Challenge Season 26. Having anchored in season 20, I believe this path would be seamlessly handled if given the opportunity again to serve in this capacity. I will be sharing my application post in line with the stipulated guidelines. I still remain your anchor, @xkool24.
Agriculture has remained the backbone of most countries ' economic mainstays, contributing directly and indirectly to their growth. It is the foundation of human civilization and the industrialization we have today through the use of raw materials and the provision of food for better living. It is a combination of crop cultivation, livestock production, and the management of natural resources for other productive activities. It has continued to evolve over time, given the technological advancements and sustainable practices.
Fortunately, we cannot remove the Environment from agricultural prosperity as this remains a key player in our daily agricultural activities. How they respond determines which path and model to follow in giving back to it to aid productivity and reduce losses. In this challenge season, we will be having a blend of "agriculture and environment".
I am Chukwuemeka, with the steemit username @xkool24 from Nigeria. I joined the Steemit platform in November 2020, and it has been quite an interesting journey for me because it has been an awesome journey all along. I have achieved many things, and among them is helping build the country's community to its enviable position where it is barely on an auto-run acceleration and as well in the Steem-Agro community, a hub of agricultural activities.
I am an agricultural economist with a decade of experience in the telecommunications business and retail sales. Before joining a career path in the telecommunication industry, I participated in several agricultural projects, such as snail production, farm practice, yield growth appraisals of poultry farmers' access to micro-credits, etc. As policymakers, we are always keen on policy-based developments to formulate policies poised to promote agricultural sustainability, food security, and overall sector growth.
Steemit is part of my daily life, I am always active both in the role of administrator/moderator, sponsoring contests and other activities, and in the role of user, participating in contests and dynamics of different communities. I may not be over-ambitious, but I am determined to work hard, be inclusive in my approach, and be ready to serve rightly.
I was a member of the greeters team in 2021, which was a very interesting experience for me. An experience with the responsibility of training, guiding, and reviewing these newbies in the ecosystem, especially from member countries. I'm also an admin in the @steem4nigeria community, the largest community of Nigerians on Steem Blockchain, and also an admin in #Steem-agro, a hub of all agricultural activities.

I already have a six-week pack of agricultural topics lined up for the duration which may be adjusted based on the dynamics. For this application, we will be presenting to you a few topics.
We have at different times troubled the environment through our numerous actions but coincidentally, the environment responds in either way to show displeasure in terms of climate variations or for us through oxygenation. But one thing is certain, some have been intentional about giving back to the environment rightly. This week's task is targeted at
Flexible Tasks
- Recycle any waste material within your environment, like paper, plastic, or any other material, to reduce waste in the environment.
- Show step by step-by-step process while carrying out this task
- Remember each picture representation of each stage (process) should come with your detailed explanation.
Participating in different environmental exercises that are tailored towards building a better communal integration and living is ideal. Due to the daily environmental pollution in our society, we cannot continue to be ignorant of its adverse effects on humans.
Flexible Tasks
- Participate in a community or personal cleanup of your environment, plant a tree, or any other eco-friendly activity.
- Show step by step-by-step process while carrying out this task
- A pictorial representation is required for all activities carried out during this task.
Going green and clean has become part of human life while promoting hygiene, biodiversity, and human longevity as humans continue to battle with ailments. This is the only way to enforce cleanliness, improve environmental friendliness, and be closer to nature.
Flexible Tasks
- Mention some simple ways to save energy in your home.
- Make a sketch of yourself keeping your environment clean
- What are those habits we carry out daily to enforce green and clean within our surroundings?
- Remember that image representation is required to personalise your task.
In line with our green and clean environmental task, we are allowed to visit the neighbourhood farms or personal gardens around us for hands-on knowledge of the task.
Flexible Tasks
- Go to the farm or garden, identify pests and diseases affecting your crops. Name of plant type and pest are required (Images required when identified) Necessary!
- In detail, mention how to control these crop infestations identified.
- In your control application, demonstrate measures put in place to control identified pests. (Picture representation is required.)
In our farm or garden, we commonly observe the different growth variations of our crops despite. This isn't far from the amount of soil nutrients that are required at different stages of the crop's lifespan. All growth stages, including flowering and fruiting, require an adequate amount of soil nutrients to be productive during harvest.
Flexible Tasks
In the same garden/farm, identify if there is a nutrient deficiency or sufficiency. How were you able to detect this visually? In either case, capture the plant leaves to identify cases.
In your visual observation, write in detail about why you feel it is deficient/sufficient and what is required, especially for the deficient cases.
The said mineral in either case should be mentioned and its role in plant growth and productivity.
practically demonstrate how.to naturally add Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium to the soil
This is a strategy and essential farm practice that tends to promote plant productivity. Many crops depend heavily on this practice if we are to have the best yield we deserve from them. This farm practice can be done in different ways but all tailored towards the same goal.
Flexible Tasks
Carry out a weeding farm activity on your farm /garden. A picture before and after should be captured with a detailed explanation of why weeding is essential at the different stages of plant growth.
Demonstrate mulching and its importance in plant productivity (picture representation required)
Show the different materials used for your mulching practice.
