Discuss on the Topic Animal Husbandry.

Animal husbandry is the branch of agriculture which deals with breeding, caring and the management of domestic animals to create food and other items. It is involved in providing the right food, protection, medical care and breeding methods to animals in order to bring income. It is the best practice in animal husbandry to provide the good feeding to animals so that they be free from any kind of diseases. People started domesticating animals for milk, meat, wool, leather and work. It also plays a role in developing the economy and also in developing nations.
Animal husbandry has been grown in a more organized way with the use of science and technology to improve animal productivity and health. It also plays an important role in food production and the development of rural areas, especially in a country where most of the population depends on agriculture and animals.

Discuss the Types of Animal Husbandry you know.

There are many types of animal husbandry but the which I know, I will discuss it here.

1. Dairy Farming:

The production of milk producing animals like cows, buffaloes and goats is called dairy farming. To make sure that the milk supply is consistent and the products it produced like cheese, butter, yogurt and cream, these all involves proper management like feeding, breeding, milking and healthcare management.

2. Poultry Farming:

The raising of domesticated birds like chickens and ducks especially for their meats and eggs is known as poultry farming. The poultry farming can also be splitted into two categories i.e. the one which produces eggs and other which produces meat. These poultry products are on high demand so this farming is popular on both small scale and on large scale.

3. Livestock Farming:

The raising of animals like cattle, sheep, goats and camels for meat, wool, leather and labour is called livestock farming. In livestock farming, the animals are either fed by hands or in open meadows.

4. Fish Farming / Aquaculture:

The breeding and raising of fish and other creatures in a proper managed environments like ponds, tanks and cages is known as fish farming or aquaculture. Since fish is a high source of protein diet so it is becoming more and more popular.

5. Apiculture / Beekeeping:

The cultivation of honey bees for the production of honey and other products like bees wax and pollen is called apiculture or beekeeping. Bees are also important for pollinating crops which helps in the production of agriculture.

Talk about the challenges encountered in Animal Husbandry and the solution to these challenges.

Since there are many benefits in the animal husbandry but we also face many challenges which I will discussed below.
One of the most severe challenge to animal husbandry is the spreading of infectious diseases like bird flu, pneumonia and other diseases. Because of these illnesses animal populations have been completely wipe out which results in financial losses and also decreased the animal productivity. Also in some regions there is a lack of medical facilities and trained staff due to which the treatment delays and it also results in poor animal health. When the farmers did not take proper care of the animals and cannot afford so it results in low production of meat, milk and eggs. The shortage of water also has an impact on animal health and its cleanliness. The extreme weathers such as floods and heatwaves that are caused by climate change also had an bad impact on animal health. Many farmers still use old methods and that knowledge may be not enough in the today's modern agricultural environment. They also don't have awareness of breeding methods and how to prevent diseases.

To overcome these challenges, we should take some steps to make animal husbandry more productive. We should open more doctor clinics and also hire experienced and well trained health workers who can concentrate on animal health and make them more productive. We should educate farmers on how to give proper balanced diet to animals and also conduct awareness programs on animal welfare. For spreading awareness we should use various mobile apps like Instagram and Facebook, radios and posters because these are the most popular ways for communicating messages to people and other health care services. We can also introduce animal husbandry in school curriculums and colleges. For climate we should encourage the planting of trees and the proper management of grasslands.
