an old farmer named Mr. Karim. Every morning, he walks to the rice fields accompanied by a stork which he named "Si Pucuk". The bird is not his pet, but a wild animal that who knows since when started accompanying him to work.

Initially, Mr. Karim thought the stork just happened to pass by, looking for frogs or small fish in the rice field ditch. But day after day, Si Pucuk always appeared, standing quietly on the embankment while watching him plow or plant seeds. Mr. Karim began to greet him, then brought bread crumbs or small salted fish as a sign of friendship.

Their relationship developed. During the lunch break, Mr. Karim sat under a waru tree while telling stories, even though he knew the bird would not answer. Si Pucuk continued to listen with his head tilted as if he understood. Even when other birds flew away in fear at the sound of tractors or people passing by, Si Pucuk remained close to Pak Karim.

But the dry season came longer that year. The rice fields began to crack, and small fish disappeared from the gutters. Si Pucuk looked thinner. Concerned Pak Karim began to bring more food. He even shared some of his supplies just to keep the bird strong.

One morning, Si Pucuk did not appear. Pak Karim waited all day, calling out to him, but there was no answer. Days passed, and he began to miss the presence of his silent friend.

Then one afternoon after the first rain, when a rainbow appeared in the sky, Si Pucuk came back. This time, he was not alone—two small storks followed him. With a touched heart, Pak Karim smiled. Si Pucuk and his children became part of his rice field routine. Friendship grows without words, only through presence and loyalty. And amidst the gurgling water of the rice fields and the arc of the rainbow, a simple story between humans and animals continues to live and be remembered.

Great job my friend, your story is one of the kind and I really interested in seeing quality articles like this. Mr. Karim was a hard working farmer indeed, glad the bird could keep him company.

Sincerely @chiagoziee.
