There was a boy named Raka

who was considered to be a very quiet boy, who use to enjoy sitting alone on the banks of the river, rather than spending his time with other children. Raka sat down everyday at five o’clock under a big tree, and drew stories of animals passing by.

One morning Raka was working quietly and he heard something crying softly near the bush. Carefully, he made his way and discovered a fawn was wounded in the leg. The fawn's eyes looked frightened. The tender political fable Soon Raka had ripped away the hem of his shirt and was binding the fawn's wound, giving it water. Neither did the fawn, as if he sensed that Raka wanted to help.

So Raka and the fawn, which he called Bulan would be boes vriende from that day. Almost every afternoon Bulan would come and sit with Raka while he was sketching. The boy grew pleasantly happy, and he even confided his secret to Bulan--how that to do so, his father had been loudly sobbing, he had felt alone and lonely without his father. I think Bulan knew, never looking at me with agitated eyes.

However, this happiness was short-lived. One morning he was informed that there was a party of hunters hunting in the forest. They were hunting for deer to sell. Raka was worried, and without delay rushed into the jungle to search for Bulan. He located her at the river, appearing troubled.

Bulan," he whispered," let us go farther back into the forest to some spot where we shall be safe. Bulan looked at him for a moment before licking Raka’s hand, as if in thanks. And then she dashed away, around the trees.

Raka was lonely over the next few days. Bulan was nowhere in sight down by the river. But every time, when Raka would sit beneath a tree, he would discover from deer footprints in the soil that Bulan would come to visit her small friend still.

Raka smiled. He came to understand that friendship needn’t always be as conspicuous. So long as they prayed for one another he and Bulan would always be in touch. From that time, Raka vowed to serve and to guard the grove, that all the creatures which lived there might have a safe home.

What a beautiful story. Raka is a truly kind-hearted and brave boy; he saved Bulan and found companionship for some time.
The moral lesson in this story is that animals need our love and friendship, whether domestic or wild animals. Let's protect them like Raka did to Bulan. I wish you good luck in this contest
