Farming is the humanity's oldest and the most principal of all occupation, namely, land is tilled to sow food crops, vegetables, fruits, to industrial crops to meet the ends of life. This practice is not just about making food; it represents a man-nature relationship, local culture and environment-sustainability.

Broadly speaking, there are different types of agriculture – with varied aims and purposes and techniques and outcomes. Here are some of them:

Traditional Agriculture
This agriculture uses old methods and simple equipment. Usually done on a small scale and relies on human and animal power. Although the results are not as large as modern agriculture, this type maintains local wisdom and is suitable for preserving biodiversity.

Modern (Intensive) Agriculture
Production is very high and efficient, but often has an environmental impact if not managed wisely. Important to meet food needs on a large scale.

Organic Agriculture
Avoids synthetic chemicals and instead uses natural fertilizers and earth-friendly practices. The harvest may be smaller, but the quality is better and kinder to humans and the soil. This variety is becoming popular because people have become health and environment conscious.

Urban Farming
Urban farming of food plants in yards, rooftops, and vertical gardens. It is also important to reduce carbon footprints and use limited land in urban areas based on local food security.

Sustainable Agriculture
Strives to establish harmony among food production, environment conservation and farmer welfare. This agriculture practices crop rotation, water harnessing and agro-forestry to ensure a sustainable ecosystem in the long term.

Human life can be hardly separated from agriculture. It feeds people, generates jobs and boosts the country’s economy, especially in rural areas. Also, agriculture helps to keep the environment stable and to maintain life.
