Do you know where the first water purification center in Korea produced tap water? It is Ttukdo Arisu Water Purification Center. "Arisu" is the name given to tap water in Seoul, and Korea's water purification facilities are so good that tap water can be used as drinking water. It is the Ttukdo Arisu Water Purification Center that makes such clean tap water.
It began producing tap water for the first time in Korea in 1908, and now supplies tap water to 71 dong(administrative division) in 7 districts in Jongno, Jung-gu, Yongsan, Mapo, Seongdong, Seodaemun, and Seongbuk-gu. Seoul citizens who use Arisu through the Ttukdo Arisu Water Purification Center are 440,000 households and about 1.01 million people! Aren't you curious about the Ttukdo Arisu Water Purification Center, which is responsible for the water of Seoul citizens?
Ttukdo Arisu Water Purification Center and the Water Museum, located right next to Seoul Forest, are about 10 minutes away from Exit 3 of Seoul Forest Station on the Bundang Line. Thanks to this, you can arrive quickly in hot weather.
You can listen to a presentation on Arisu's basic explanation and water purification process, and learn more about the process through a reduced model of the water purification process. It's also great to be able to go outside and look around a large water purification plant. I think it's effective to kill two birds with one stone because it can teach children how the water we use is made and also teach them to save water.
This is the main control room of the water purification plant. Here monitor the whole process of the water purification and check and control the water quality standards at each stage.
You can even drink clean tap water through the water purification facility we looked around! The children were really fascinated for it. :)
To learn more about Arisu, book a tour course that showcases and explains the Ttukdo Arisu Water Purification Center and the National Water Museum. You can also make reservations on the Seoul Metropolitan Museum of Water on its website. You can go to the museum's opening time without an exhibition commentary, but it will be better if you listen to the experts in the museum's exhibition commentary. Then have a great day. Thank you for reading! ^^
