STEEM ATLAS [07 Aug '25] : New Voting System & Delegator Rewards
Thank you to everyone who supported our DAO proposal.
The great support from the community took the Proposal past the Return Proposal threshold and DAO funding for the Steem Atlas project began on 1 August.
In this first phase of DAO funding support we have two major objectives for Steem Atlas.
Firstly we want to build out the features and facilities of Steem Atlas to make it fully independent of steemit.com.
Secondly Steem Atlas needs to finessed and enhanced to make it scalable for a much bigger audience.
The Steem Atlas team have got straight to work and released two new features to help with these objectives.
Manual Curation - Automated Voting
Up until now Steem Atlas posts have been manually curated by @pennsif and the team of Atlas Ambassadors, and manually voted by @pennsif.
This has taken a considerable amount of time, and put limitations on the number of posts that could be dealt with each day.
Our goal is to curate all posts on Steem Atlas, and to give some size of vote to all valid posts.
To be able to handle increasing numbers of posts we have introduced a streamlined curation and voting system.
We are now aiming for all valid posts to be reviewed and graded by the team of Atlas Ambassadors.
Then, approximately every 24 hours, an automated voting system will share out the available voting power among all curated posts according to the grades given by the Ambassadors.
This will allow us to fairly review and vote on a growing number of posts each day.
Please note : if an Ambassador identifies that the pin is in the wrong location in your Steem Atlas post, it is important that you fix the pin location as soon as possible, as the voting grade will not be given under the location is correct.
Delegator Rewards
As usage of Steem Atlas increases, it is very important that we keep growing the size of the @steem-atlas account so that we can continue to give worthwhile votes to as many posts as possible.
Up until now we have encouraged delegations to @steem-atlas through the weekly Delegator Draws.
While the 25 STEEM prizes have been well received we realise this has been an imperfect method for fairly rewarding all delegators.
We have therefore this week launched a new Delegation Reward Scheme.
Steem Atlas is now paying anyone who delegates to @steem-atlas a daily reward.
The current rate for the reward is... 0.3 STEEM per 1000 SP per day.
We hope this is a competitive rate that will encourage many more people to delegate to @steem-atlas.
The minimum delegation to receive the daily rewards is 500 SP.
The @steem-atlas account currently stands at 372,458 SP which can give a full vote of $2.18.
Our initial target is to reach 500,000 SP by the end of the year.
Then we will have an Atlas Whale !
These are the first of many new developments for the Steem Atlas project that are being facilitated by the DAO funding.
We will be doing our best to put out updates every week and we hope that we can continue to deliver good value to the community for the funding we are receiving.
Everyone is invited to help build Steem Atlas into a project that the community can be proud of.
Thank you
The Pennsif Witness team (@pennsif, @rexthetech, @freelance.monkey) & the Atlas Ambassadors
Good work 👏
Wow, @steem-atlas! This is fantastic news! It's so exciting to see the DAO proposal come to fruition and the immediate progress you're making in enhancing the platform.
The move to manual curation with automated voting is a game-changer. Streamlining the process while ensuring fair rewards for quality content will undoubtedly encourage more users to contribute. And the Delegator Reward Scheme? Brilliant! A daily reward system offers tangible benefits and incentivizes further growth of the @steem-atlas account.
Reaching that 500,000 SP "Atlas Whale" goal is definitely within reach with these improvements. I love the commitment to transparency with weekly updates. Count me in as someone eager to see Steem Atlas continue to evolve and become a flagship project for the Steem community! Keep up the amazing work!
This is really an amazing update with a number of good updates. These will surely help for the growth of Steem Atlas and Steem. Best of luck 🤞
This is very great news, it will definitely incentivate more steemians to delegate and support the grow of Steem Atlas.
