Dinajpur Archaeological Museum, Bangladesh
Dinajpur Museum is a huge rich collection of antiquities. If you are interested in seeing the ancient antiquities of the greater Dinajpur region, then you must visit Dinajpur Museum. In Dinajpur Museum, you will see history and lost traditions. Dinajpur Museum has weapons used by kings and landlords and various tools used in war. I have visited this museum several times. I will use pictures taken from different times in this blog.
Dinajpur district has an archaeological museum located in Munshipara, Dinajpur Sadar. It is the third largest collection of ancient artifacts in Bangladesh.
What is in this archaeological museum:
Among the objects displayed in the Dinajpur Museum, sculptures, coins, inscriptions, and various small artifacts are notable. As of 1969, the museum had about 800 artifacts. All these artifacts were initially donated to the museum in 1968 as rare statues, coins, and inscriptions. This is how this museum began.
This museum has a large collection of pre-1947 coins and coins of various denominations from the subcontinent. The museum has a large number of ancient statues made of stone. These statues were recovered from various places in North Bengal.
Various weapons and equipment used for defense during the war. Swords and other weapons of war used by the kings and landlords of that time. Various ammunition used during the 1971 Bangladesh war.
Before 1971, the only media used was radio. The people of the country tried to use it during the war and get news from different parts of the country through that radio. This museum has a collection of clothes of the bloody warriors of the war. I can learn about the history and tradition of my country. I have collected ancient statues and priceless things from my region and different places here.
Dinajpur Museum was started on the initiative of the then Deputy Commissioner Archaeologist to preserve and exhibit ancient statues and collections. Initially, it was run in a tin shed. In 1983, it was upgraded to a two-story building without any expansion. The museum started its activities on the ground floor and the library on the upper floor was run.
The museum and library are open 5 days a week. The museum visiting hours are from 3 pm to 7 pm. The library is open for an additional hour. A ticket of five taka is required to enter the museum. Teachers especially bring school students from school so that they can learn about history.
I invite many to visit the museum. People should visit museums to know about the past and history. I think museums are a good place to know about my past and heritage.

Notes :
I have made some corrections sir. I have added small adjectives to the pictures. Dinajpur is located in the main city to reach the museum. Therefore, the transport facilities to reach the museum from the city are very good and there are underground links. Thank you for your valuable visit.
