Dinajpur Medical College Hospital

Dinajpur Medical College Hospital is an important healthcare facility for the local people of Dinajpur and the people of the surrounding 3 districts. The people of Dinajpur rely on and come here for treatment. Although Dinajpur Medical College is a 500-bed medical college, 1000+ patients can receive medical services here at once. Several other healthcare centers are run under Dinajpur Medical College Hospital, such as Nursing College, Diabetes Hospital, Eye Hospital, Zia Heart Foundation Hospital. The overall treatment of these is monitored by Dinajpur Medical College Hospital.

Hospital corridors are being cleaned and disinfected.

Today I went to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital with my friend to see a patient he knows. Since the patient is in ICU, we could not enter there, so we only met the relatives. I saw two floors of the medical college, so I will share it. There is a special reason why treatment is good at Dinajpur Medical College. There is always an intern doctor at Dinajpur Medical College, due to which a doctor is always available for common problems.

As there is a big medical college in our district, there is always a rush of people coming for medical services. Although there are 500 beds here, many patients are receiving treatment on the verandah due to the large number of patients. Although the number of doctors is less, intern doctors and nurses are providing round-the-clock service. The evidence of the emergence of various diseases among children is evident in the children's ward of this medical college. Most of the children have to be given gas through nebulizers, and many are admitted here for various diseases. Since they do not get beds, they have spread beds on the verandah.

Although I have not received treatment from this medical institution myself, I have had both good and bad experiences from this hospital. My friend's father died while undergoing treatment here. I am taking it as a matter of course because the eternal truth that everyone will actually recover in the hospital is not mentioned anywhere. However, after his death, we were harassed by third-class employees.

Good facilities During the last July movement, many people got treatment in this hospital after getting rubber bullets, which was very good.

The number of patients here is relatively high, due to which it is difficult to get a cabin or bed, so we have to get treatment on the veranda many times. The hospital has a three-day meal facility for the patients, which provides very good quality food (only 500 beds are allocated for patients, food is allocated regularly).

Medical treatment is a fundamental right that a defendant is being given first aid under police guard.

Here, all medical services are provided for government treatment or any government work, such as providing primary treatment to the accused arrested by the police. Medical treatment is a fundamental right and it is open to all citizens. Today, I saw a patient (accused) in the medical college who was admitted here for medical treatment because he was sick. A policeman is guarding him.

Lift facility which is very helpful for wheelchair users and elderly patients

Overall consideration of the hospital: As the hospital is 8-storeyed, there is a lift facility here which is given priority to the patients. The standard of cleanliness of the hospital is not very good and needs to be kept cleaner. The number of beds in the hospital needs to be increased further. At the same time, the number of ICUs should be increased.

The quality of medical services in the hospital is good but for poor patients more medicines always have to be bought from outside. Only a small amount of medicine is available from the hospital. Most of the time it is closed now but even if it is open, not all medicines are available free of cost anymore, it is disappointing.

Apart from hospitalized patients, all citizens can avail healthcare services for just 10 taka (steem 0.45). Six days a week, one MBBS doctor in each department treats the patient, which costs just 10 taka per ticket.

There are various voluntary organizations in the Medical College Hospital that help general patients. Medicine Club which conducts voluntary blood donation programs. Information Service Club which helps patients with various information.

Government, private and ambulance

The hospital has government and private ambulance services that pick up and drop off patients. There are some voluntary organizations that provide ambulance services for burial of unidentified patients and transport of helpless patients at a nominal cost. The hospital has garage facilities for the relatives of the patients to park their cars after their arrival.
