Outdoor Open Air Gym in Shalman Park Hayatabad Peshawar to OpenStreetMap | My Contribution to Steem Atlas

Hello Steemit friends

I am excited to participate in Week 1 of Steemit Challenge Season 25 where we explore gyms dojos stadiums and other sports center around us. This is Part of the steem Atlas initiative and in this post I am going to shared how I adda fitnes facility near my home to OpenStreetMap.

Step by Step: How I Added the Outdoor Gym to OpenStreetMap

I follow the official Steemit guide and here the complete step by step process I used

Step 1: I Sign Up on OpenStreetMap

• First I Went to https://www.openstreetmap.org
• Then I clicked on “Sign Up” at the top right corners
• I entere my username email addres and password
• After that I receive confirmation email
• I clicked the link in the email to verify my account

Now my OpenStreetMap accounts was ready to use.

Step 2: I Searched for My Area

• In the search bar I typed:
  “Shalman Park Hayatabad Peshawar”
• The map moved to the right location inside Phase 2 Hayatabad
• I zoom in to see the exact spot Where the outdoor gym is locate

Step 3: I Clicked on “Edit”

• On the top bar of the website I clicked “Edit”
• The map editor opened (called iD Editor)
• It showed me some quick tips which I read and skip

Now I was ready to add the gym point

Step 4: I Selected the Point Tool

• From the top toolbar I clicked the “Point” tool (a dot icon)
• Then I clicked on the exact spot inside the park Where the gym equipment is installed

Step 5: I Added the Gym Details

After placing the point a form appeared on the left side. I filled it like this:

• Type: Fitness Station
• Name: Shalman Park Outdoor Gym
• Description: An open air gym with free fitness equipment for public use
• Access: Yes (open to everyone)
• Fee: No
• Opening hours: Dawn to dusk
• Surface: Cemented ground

Step 6: I Saved My Edits

• After checking all the details I clicked the “Save” button on the top right
• It asked for a change message so I wrote:
  “Added Shalman Park Outdoor Gym – free outdoor fitness space.”
• Then I clicked “Upload”

Thats it My addition was successfully published on OpenStreetMap

• Type: Fitness Station
• Access: Open to everyone
