Those who practice humility have the ability to recognize that people have great value to God.

I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk as worthy of the calling with which you were called, 2 with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love, 3 endeavoring to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace;

Ephesians 4:1-3

The Lord has a special and definite purpose for each one of us, he also has global purposes that affect all his children, such as for us to be humble.

3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility of mind regard others as more important than yourselves;

Philippians 2:3

Humility is something that goes far beyond what others see in us, humility is a result of direct dependence on God, this word invites us to consider others more than ourselves, the Lord Jesus Christ himself gives us this example of priority since he loved humanity much more and put his creation first to return to have communion with his children.

32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

Ephesians 4:32

As children of God, the desire to love others as Jesus Christ has loved us, to forgive and be merciful is always in our mouths. The fundamental requirement to develop all these characteristics is to be humble of heart. This means that if we want to forgive and love people, we must keep in mind the value that each one of them has before the eyes of God.
There are cases in which we limit ourselves to thinking only about how we are feeling at a given moment or we limit ourselves to thinking only about what suits us, this is the opposite of humility. But when humility is present then forgiveness and love grow and we express it through concrete actions towards other people. Let us resolve today to be more humble considering others as the Lord considers them.
