Lack of prayer has its cost.

God's recommendation and invitation to us is to place our burdens in His hands, with complete trust.

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The eternal God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not faint or become weary, and no one can fathom His understanding. 29 He gives power to the weary and increases strength to those who have no power. 30 Youths faint and are weary, young men stumble and fall. 31 But those who wait for the Lord will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not be weary, they will walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:28-31

From the beginning, God has desired to have fluid communication with humanity; He desires intimate communion. Let us remember when Jesus says:

7 Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; Knock, and it will be opened to you.

Matthew 7:7

This gives us the assurance that God is ready and willing to answer, yet many of us neglect this and stop communicating with God, not so when we are in an emergency or need.
Abandoning prayer is not something without consequences. Stopping praying, stopping talking to God has a very high cost to our well-being. Those who do not dedicate themselves, that is, those who do not pray, do not talk to God, unfortunately, their struggles are repeated, and they cannot find rest in God; discouragement and doubt invade their being.
There are different situations in which we carry a great weight, a great emotional burden, and this also has its cost, whether physical or spiritual. We live in moments of extreme decline, and if we do not take action, unfortunately, we fall into exhaustion since we cannot bear it alone. Taking action means turning to God in prayer. God in no way desires that we carry our burdens alone to the point of being unbearable. God urges us to cast our burdens upon Him.

Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden,
the God who is our salvation.

Psalm 68:19

God invites us to cast our burdens, worries, and cares upon Him. Trying to carry all of this on our shoulders can be exhausting and frustrating at some point. We are not designed to bear every burden. For this reason, God invites us to place the problems that plague us upon Him. We may think the burden will disappear, but everything simply becomes lighter, and our outlook changes completely when we trust in God, when we cry out in prayer, and when we place our trust in Him.
