Stopping praying can be harmful.

When we study the Bible and pray faithfully with the desire to seek God, we find rest and relief from the burdens of life.
2 Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving, 3 praying at the same time for us, that the Lord may open to us a door for the word, to make known the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains, 4 that I may make it clear how I ought to speak.
5 Walk wisely with those outside, redeeming the time. 6 Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.
Colossians 4:2-6
Prayer should be a priority for the children of God above all those who have a fervent desire to be used by God. Let us remember that Jesus Christ frequently set aside time to pray to His Father because He needed Him.
Immediately Jesus made his disciples get into the boat and go ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowds.
Matthew 14:22
We see that Jesus Christ needed to pray, and the more we should not be like those who want to handle things alone. The fatigue of carrying the weight alone is unnecessary. Especially if we carry extra weight, this has its consequences, and they are not the best. When we enter a state of spiritual, physical, or emotional exhaustion, we tend to tire and become discouraged much more easily. If we don't spend time studying the Bible and praying, we enter a cycle where problems become bigger problems, and our human solutions often make little sense when faced with problems we cannot solve.
As we become discouraged, doubt and distrust also enter the picture. We question God's faithfulness, seeking refuge in anything but prayer and the Word of God. But when we focus on praying and seeking God's answer in His word, we undoubtedly find security and power in God's presence.
28 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart. And you will find rest for your souls, 30 for my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Matthew 11:28-30
