Let us be wise and build our lives on the word of God, it is the sure foundation, in the word of God we have security.

20 Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All things are indeed clean; but it is wrong for a man to cause others to stumble by what he eats. 21 It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything by which your brother stumbles or is offended or is weakened. 22 Do you have faith? Have it toward yourself before God. Blessed is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves. 23 But he who doubts what he eats is condemned, because he does not do it from faith; and everything that does not come from faith is sin.

Romans 14:20-23

A person who is convinced that his values are true is very different from those people who believe in things based on circumstances or simple conditions, because if the latter change their situation, people also change their opinion and above all their loyalty.
We can see many characters in the Bible who maintained their conviction firmly, unwaveringly, even when the treatment towards them was totally unfair, one of them is Joseph who never doubted or deviated from his principles. And this led him to obtain the results of being in the right place at the right time to be the person who would provide for the survival of the people of Israel.

20 You intended evil against me, but God intended it for good, to bring about what we see today, to preserve many people alive.

Genesis 50:20

Let us not forget Daniel, who was a righteous man who lived firmly in his convictions regarding God even when he found himself in a completely idolatrous environment. His conviction allowed him to gain the trust of the kings of those lands.

19 And the king spoke with them, and there were none among them like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah; so they stood before the king.

Daniel 1:19

These are in some way not only heroes of faith but also clear examples of what people with firm convictions and values can achieve. These types of people can face different opinions or overly persuasive arguments but nothing will make them change. If we are firm and fully rooted in the word of God, we fully trust in his promises and in that way nothing and no one will be able to move us from the certainty that we have in the word of God. We live a full life filled with confidence and courage in the word of God and we overcome any conflict.
I invite you that instead of trusting and following our own preferences or opinions, we choose to live under the conviction and values of the word of God. Through the study of the word and prayer, God will keep us firm in the conviction of the word of God and this offers solidity and resistance to any test, no matter how cruel it may be.
