John 13:13-17

13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.
14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.
15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.
16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

Dear friends

The wonderful night when Jesus ate and drank with his friends and prepared them for the new Jewish Passover, is the amazing behavior of Jesus when he washes the feet of his disciples.

At his last supper, the night before he died, Jesus makes a long teaching speech with what his spiritual testament represents, but begins with a powerful nonverbal gesture. Once again he presents us to "act" or put into practice the word of Jesus, here the gospel presents us with his own action and behavior that we are called to imitate, as well as his teaching.

Jesus has no illusions about the group of inadequate and sinful men he is addressing. One will betray it, the others will disperse at the time of the test. These men are also arrogant and ambitious, for this reason Jesus has to show them what the attitude of service should be. However, Jesus does not despair with these men. They are the ones he has "chosen". Even in this late hour, it is showing you the way to happiness.

If they asked us: "Where are we as followers of Jesus?", Would we think that we are the servant, the messenger of the Lord? I am someone sent to a task by the Lord, and while I do it, He accompanies me and identifies with me. Whatever the smallest thing I can do to serve the kingdom of God, I do it in their company.

Jesus after bringing an excellent teaching not only in words but also taught them with practice and tells the disciples, if you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them, I was saying you will not be blessed if you know and do not practice it.

Today we know and know a lot and we want to know more, but we practice little, if we stop being only listeners to be doers the world would be impacted because the reality is that there is tremendous potential in everything we know and know, we need to put it in practice to be able to be instruments in the hands of God and be firm in difficult days.
