Let's look beyond our own affairs.
Today, the Word of God reminds us that our faith is not only personal; faith produces results and attitudes that translate into actions, thus affecting others.
The Lord urges us to do good to others. We live amidst many challenges and are generally focused solely on our own affairs. God calls us to take a step further, to look beyond our own affairs. We have the opportunity to be a blessing to others. A simple act of generosity can radically transform people's lives.
Helping others requires effort, investment of time, and the use of resources, often forsaking our personal interests. This is part of what we do to please God. It's not about giving away our leftovers. We must live a life of service and love, not just hoping to receive blessings, but also to be a blessing to others.
And do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
