The kindness that has no expiration date.
Today, more than ever, our world is changing, and changes are occurring at a rapid pace: technology, governments, people, and not to mention our own emotions. But in the midst of all this chaos and instability, today's verse reminds us that God is the one who sustains the soul; God is always good.
And when it says, God is always good, it removes any doubt or the famous "sometimes" from the picture; it doesn't depend on our circumstances or our emotions. It also speaks of His mercy; it is forever; His goodness and mercy have no expiration date. It also emphasizes that God's truth is forever, for each and every generation, for posterity. What He has promised is valid yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
Do we doubt His goodness? Perhaps things don't turn out the way we expect, but God is good not only when everything is going well; He is always good because that is His nature. Even when we are in the midst of pain, His goodness is forever, since He goes beyond what we understand or can see. God is love ALWAYS!
For the Lord is good; His loving-kindness endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.
