The moment of trial is a moment to grow.

Today we see that it is impossible to distance ourselves from or avoid God's purpose. It reminds us that God is in control and uses any situation, even the most difficult, to guide us on the right path.
Jonah believed he could do what he wanted by disobeying God and escaping the mission God had entrusted to him. In this case, the instrument was the great fish. Unlike a punishment, this was a moment of reflection, gaining God's grace and mercy.
Remember that these difficult moments or crises are NOT the end of everything; they are merely a moment of reflection, of preparation, to be transformed and fulfill the purpose God has entrusted to us. Just as like Jonah, those three days of reflection can be three much-needed days to turn our lives around. Do you want to escape from God? God has you safely in His hands.
But the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow Jonah; and Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.
