THE OTHER SIDE OF LIFE
(Matthew 14:22)
Without doubts as God, Jesus knew what would befall His disciples as they were crossing the sea. Yet He persuaded them to cross over on their own. There were lessons they had to learn. The crowd of 5000 had just been miraculously fed with five loaves and two fishes. I guess the disciples also ate to their hearts content, even gathering this left over that filled twelve baskets. God sees all hearts. Who knows what went through the minds of the disciples? Perhaps they had begun to conclude that the walk with the Master was an easy road.
So, Jesus made them test the other side of life. For the world is made up of valleys, hills and flat lands. While there are people who accept us and are ready to shout Hossana! Hossana! There are others also prepared to shout "Crucify him, Crucify Him." Jesus also used this tempestuous situation to demonstrate His power. He walked calmly on the very water that tormented the disciples for hours. It was His presence that finally put a stop to the storm.
We are told the disciples thereafter declared 'of a truth, thou art the Son of God.' What storms are raging in your life? God may have allowed them for a purpose to reveal His person and power to you. Even today, all things still work together for good and with Him you can walk on the storms of your life.
