Today let us share the word of God.

YOU ARE THE ONE !!!

You are the one God has chosen to render his services. God has a purpose of choosing you among your neighbours in your community or country to lead his people. You have been anointed and blessed, so the Holy Spirit is in you that is why you could do greater things in his name.

In 1Samuel 16:1-13, after Saul was rejected by God, God called Samuel and asked him: "how long will you mourn Saul? I have regretted of being chosen Saul as my King. Let me send you to Jesse, among his children that I have chosen my King to lead my people. Initially, Samuel was afrad since he feared Saul. but God said I will direct you what to do. Samuel listened and went as God had commanded him to do. Since man looks at outward appearance, but God looks into the heart, God told Samuel not to look at his countenance, or on the height of the person I have chosen to be a King.

Among Jesse's eight children, only David was chosen to be a King. He was even the youngest and counted not to be closer to the throne. By then he was looking after his father's sheep in the bush, and they sent a messenger to bring him. After he was brought, "And the Lord said to Samuel, Arise, anoint him: for this is he." (1Samuel 16:12b)

The word arise call for action or duty to be performed. And it has been used in the Bible at points where the servants of God are called to perform certain activities for God. For instance, in the Book of Nehemiah 2:20, when the walls of Jerusalem was been broken and Nehemiah has sought permission from the King for reconstruction of the walls, the same word "Arise" was used, indicating the point at which the servants of God should put themselves together to uplift some vital activities for the growth of God's Kingdom thus: "The God of heaven, he will prosper us, therefore we his servants will " arise" and build: but you have no portion, nor right, nor memorial in Jerusalem. (Nehemiah 2:20)

We as Parishioners are also the servants of God, and God is calling us asHe called Samuel to arise and anoint his King-David. We are the servants of God as the people of Jerusalem who were called by Nehemiah to arise and let them rebuild the walls of Jerusalem so that the younger generation do not blame them that they have overlooked God's property to collapse. Any time there is a call to arise and take action; there is a follow up response, and this response has been the actual activities that we need put into action for a complete execution of God's work. The word arise should bring a positive result.

So, when Samuel was called, God commanded him to anoint David as his King, and immediately, Samuel anointed David and the strength of God came upon David to be able to do his work. As Parishioners of Steemchurch, we have therefore being called to preach the gospel to win souls for Christ, we have therefore called to fight for freedom and liberty for those who are under captivity, we have therefore called to feed the hungry ones, we have therefore called to support the poor financially, we have therefore called to put smile on the face of those who are depressed. God has given all these task for us to execute them, because of that He has anointed us to be able to do it and do it well.

When you are anointed, you become a unique person from other people in your community or a country. The Holy Spirit controls your life in all your actions so that you can serve God with all humility. You become strengthened, and no thing can stop you or discourage you from executing your task ahead of you. God knows the reasons why we are chosen to as Parishioners of Steemchurch, as David was also chosen to lead his people as King. Among Jesse's children, David was chosen, though there were giant men with lots of energy, but in God's own wisdom, He saw that, David though small but he can lead his people. This tells us as that for every step that God take, there is a course of doing that. Note, some people can preach well, but they cannot sing, some people can sing but they cannot preach, some people can dance but they cannot sing, some people can be a good leader but they cannot be counsellors, some people are good in charity works but they cannot pray. So, God knows our talents, our strengths and weaknesses, what we can do best and what we cannot do. That is why we are called in Steemchurch for every Parishioner to exhibit his/her God given talents and gifts to support others and to help the growth of the church.

You are the one that God has called, as He called David to come and lead his people. Every body is a leader in his own portfolio, that is what he/she can do and do better. When we put all the activities every individual is doing in Steemchurch, I can boldly say that we are building a vibrant community. Let us all help and build, as other men of God helped. Let us not sit outside somewhere looking at one person doing the work, we therefore remember that it is a church, and every church comprises congregation and the congregation forms the people in the church. I hope with God's anointing we can do it.
