The Baitul A'la Grand Mosque, also known as the Jade Mosque, is located in the Suka Makmue Office Complex, Nagan Raya, Aceh, Indonesia. After approximately 10 years of construction, the mosque has finally been inaugurated. The floor, some walls, and pillars of the mosque are covered with three types of jade.

The mosque was originally scheduled to open to the public in June 2022. God willing, if there are no obstacles, the Baitul A'la Grand Mosque, or Jade Mosque, will open to the public this June on Friday.

The inauguration of the Baitul A'la Grand Mosque began with a peusijuek (flour offering) ceremony, prayers, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and the signing of a stone inscription. Following the inauguration, the mosque was immediately used for the first Friday prayers.

This mosque stands on an area of ​​3 hectares which can accommodate more than 5,000 worshippers, the Baitul A'la Nagan Raya Grand Mosque which combines typical Asian architectural concepts from Southeast Asia and the Middle East as well as a mixture of typical Acehnese, so that the Baitul A'la Grand Mosque looks very beautiful with several motifs.

The beauty of the Baitul A'la Grand Mosque in Nagan Raya lies in its light-emitting floors, pillars, and walls, which are covered with jade, a precious stone. Among the various types of jade are jadeite, nephrite, and serpentine, also known as black jade, which is used in the creation of stone inscriptions.

Since the Baitul A'la Grand Mosque's construction, numerous tourists have flocked to the mosque to see and worship within.

Floor, Walls, Pillars of the Baitul A'la Grand Mosque

One type of stone used for the pillars, walls, and floors is nephrite, a member of the amphibole mineral group, often called tremolite. It is slightly stronger than jadiet jade. Nephrite jade has a smoother surface, making it ideal for mosque flooring.

The jade stone was not only installed on the floor but also on the mosque's 22 pillars.

It also enhances the beauty of the mosque's interior.

A small wooden donation box is available at the mosque, which has been padlocked by the mosque administrators. We can contribute a small amount of our wealth to the mosque's construction or as a reward for good deeds. The funds in the donation box will also be used by the mosque for construction and other mosque needs, including maintaining the mosque's facilities and improving the quality of Muslim worship.

On the side of the mosque, there is a place for ablution and a bathroom for men, and on the left side, a place for women. Worshippers come to perform ablution before entering the mosque and performing their prayers inside.

Thanks to the presence of this magnificent mosque, Nagan Raya Regency is now visited by many tourists to experience the splendor of the jade mosque and the cool atmosphere within. Measuring 75 meters by 47 meters, the mosque is built on a three-hectare plot of land and consists of two floors for prayer, while the ground floor houses an ablution area and a spacious parking area.

The view is even more captivating when you gaze inside the dome, where Middle Eastern-style ornaments create a pleasing beauty. These distinctive accents create an atmosphere reminiscent of a magnificent building in an Arab country.

The detailed carvings and harmonious color combination make this mosque a place that invites awe and tranquility for all who visit.

The presence of this mosque serves as a testament to Aceh's rich natural resources and the abundance of untouched natural resources within it, and the Jade Mosque is one such example.
