Day 6 Central Coast Australia - Pelican feeding
Today for me started with waking up which is always a bonus, then it was have a cup of coffee and go for a walk.
After my walk i spent 3 hours doing work stuff, entering data into another spreadsheet from this weeks work.
Then i went to the supermarket and got some supplies i needed, i even managed an hour nana nap just after noon.
At 3pm i went down to the water front to secure a seat for the Pelican feeding they do here at 3.30pm, i got a front row seat and had a great view.

Here is a video i posted to my You tube channel, BTW i am huge on You tube LOL
Ok here are some pics from the Pelican feeding, no Giant tweezers used here @petface
The Pelicans get really close to the public as you can see from this picture, my blue sneaker at the bottom of the picture.
Most of them waited patiently to get their mullet fish but a couple were semi aggressive LOL
They said that they don't need to feed the Pelicans but rather use it as an opportunity to grab one that may need to see a vet etc.
The boy ones are taller than the girl ones and both sexes weight between 8 - 10kg.
They can fly for an astonishing 24 hours straight if need be.
One of them was brought to the Pelican feeding by one of the volunteers who had to rescue it from the shops along the waterfront, it was going in and out of the shops.
I will be going back again tomorrow to watch the feeding again as it was super cool.
This has been my amazing Saturday on the Central Coast Australia.
Have a good day
all pics are mine

this post is 100% human made
The pelican feeding is awesome, what a start of my day! No giant tweezers indeed, this is the Australian way, it’s wild!! The pelicans are larger too!! This is how people here in England, though they shouldn’t, feed seagulls.
The video and the pelican close ups are my favourite!
P.S. I better hurry up as I am on my way to Paris - will share photos!!
Have fun in Paris mate
Thank you! Hope the Eurostar train is running on time 🚂
Will they let you feed the pelicans tomorrow?
I am definitely going back tomorrow
Its been the highlight of my work trip so far, in fact i wish i could take one home LOL
Thank you ever so much @shiftitamanna
They seem very friendly and super cool.
You would love them
Owh its nice to know that..
These pelican birds are rare birds around here. The one you see around here is the one that stays in the zoo for people delight..
I have just been for a walk and saw quite a few just hanging out.
Something different for you on a weekend afternoon.
Interesting to watch the pelicans feeding. Thanks for the fun facts about them. Quite a feat to be able to fly 24 hours.
They can be aggressive and dangerous when it comes to food. I wouldn't want to go too close to them.
