Nutrition and health benefits of Food

Its amazing to know that there is something we can not do without in this life, no matter how young or how old we are. Can you guess what it is? Oh yes you are right! Food.
Food is an important aspect of life, all living things needs food. Animals, plants and humans alike. And guess what? The type of food we eat determines how well we grow !
I am a lover of food not just any kinds of food but good food that has health benefits. Have you stayed for two days without eating and you are not fasting? Did you get hungry? Of course you will. We can't go so long without food.

- Food Supplies us with Required Nutrients
Food supplies our body with the needed nutrients such as vitamins, fats, proteins and many others used for the day to day function and maintenance. You will definitely fall sick if you stay a whole week without eating anything because your body becomes weak and can not work.
- Food Helps the body to boost immune system
Our body is often under attack of divers sickness whenever our immune system is down. The immune system of our body is like a fence around our general system. When we feed well, the fence becomes stronger but when we don't eat at all or feed well, the fence becomes weak and can easily be accessed or broken down by any kinds of sickness.
- Food aids the growth of the body
Just like plants that don't feed well will have stunted growth, they grow yellowish in flowers and eventually die that's how it applies to the human body. The intake of food daily helps the body grow well. If there are dead tissues and cells, the intake of food helps with the replacement of those tissues and cells and this is simply growth.
- Food allows the brain function well
Do you know the type of food you eat affect how your brain works? Then imagine if you don't eat at all. The human brain memory,and work capacity is affected by food. You will notice that kids that are malnourished are usually low in retention of things especially in school. Feed well and your brain will work well. This begins right from when a kid is still young till old age.
- Food brings Energy to the body
Without food in your system, your body maynot have the motivation to work. Food provides us with energy to go about our days work and activities on a daily basis, monthly and yearly. Have you seen a car that is required to move around with been fueled or oiled? It won't work infact the engine will go bad. That's what food is to the human body.

- Reduce the intake of Sugar
I know that it's good to take sugar, infact many people around my country can not stay a day without sugar in their teas, pap or other meals. The intake of excess sugar can cause damage to the body such as excessive weight gain and even obesity, tooth decay and the rest of it.
- Reduce the intake of soft drinks
It's better to drink water than to take soft drinks after eating or when tasty. These soft drinks not only contain sugar but the excess intake of it is harmful to the liver and even heart.
- Eat more vegetables and fruits
Many people I know find it hard to eat fruits or vegetables. They can eat every other thing except fruits and vegetables not knowing that these two helps protect the body so well and fight bacteria and germs.
- Avoid junks
Junks are sweet and are loved by many. Some of it includes, ice cream, Burger, biscuits, shawarma, meat pie and many others. I know these food can be enticing but they can also be harmful to the body. Aside increasing body weight these junks has capacity to cause constipation to your body.
- Bread and pasta should not be eaten all the time
These categories of food may not contain the required fiber that the body needs to work effectively. Therefore, they have capacity to increase your blood sugar and make you gain much weight.
- Fried meat should be avoided
Generally, things that are fried are not healthy to the food. So the excess intake of fried meat especially red meat is dangerous to the body because it puts your body at risk of having a heart problem.
