The floods and other October things
Perhaps the recent destruction along the coast could be the reason for this second post with photos from this unique hotel that I visited in October 4 years ago.
It was cold then, as I said, and raining. But not in the way it has happened now.
And yet, the village where it is located, Obzor, has not been affected by the destruction this year. Maybe that's why we didn't feel anything threatening that October either.
And maybe some building regulations and building permits were followed here, so there are no such destructions. Although I doubt it.
I don't know how it is in your countries, but I recently found out about another Slavic country, where in the same way most of the money from illegal business is laundered through the construction of hotels. And the hotels, especially those on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, are not owned by random people.
Yes, there may be some small family hotels with 10 rooms that are owned by random people, also the guest houses or houses offering separate sleeping rooms, hostel type, should have been left/allowed to the local population so that they too have some means of livelihood, although this is also not mandatory, since in the settlements outside the capital, the mafia usually controls everything and sometimes leaves nothing to the local population.
That's why I can't help but ask myself every time I see something like this, and it doesn't happen often, who are the owners of this piece of art?
Yes, it may look kitschy, it may not be to everyone's taste, but for me it is unique, I have never seen anything like it before, let alone in a boring country like Bulgaria, where hotels, as one of the most profitable businesses, are owned by people with no particular inclination towards art, no particular taste and in short - no particular intelligence, as paradoxical as it may sound.
And not only who are the owners, but how did this idea, this performance come about, who came up with this thought, where did it come from... You probably know my eternal question: how did the creator come to this performance, to the idea for it? Yes, I know about the common cauldron of ideas, thoughts and creativity that everyone could have access to, but still, I'm interested in how each specific case came about.
In the case of this hotel, which I already showed you in several other posts a long time ago, I think it's clear where the idea for it came from. But here... Has anyone (of the owners) been to Provence and seen something there - such an interior, such a design?
Because the hotel's website says "in the spirit of Provence." What exactly is in the spirit of Provence about this hotel? Are all the hotels there like that, so unusual? And at the same time, I can't see any "tradition" here, no spirit. It might be an imitation of a single other object somewhere, but not a spirit, not something typical. Typical only of the world of sirens and fairies, perhaps. 😂
The way this is written on the hotel's website is a testament to its owners. This is so typically Bulgarian.😅
By the way, I just opened the map to find the hotel website again, and I saw the marked flood areas along the coast. They start a little below it, throughout the Burgas province (the area I like the most on the coast. Apparently not only me, since it is overbuilt and this is one of the reasons for the floods.)
So, we come to the interior of the room. Because the lobby is nothing without information about the room itself. Maybe this is the most important thing in a hotel stay. Or maybe not.
Because the interior of the room is not as pompous as the lobby. Should it be?
I will remind you of the interior of the room of the aforementioned hotel. Which was completely at odds with the decorations on the facade, as well as with the decorations on the back of the building.
There was also some discrepancy here, although not that big. The bed is more beautiful than the other one, the wall on the right was decorated with stucco, which I did not photograph - a small part of it is visible.
And the eternal ship with sails above the bed - can this classic be called Bulgarian now, since I am photographing it in yet another hotel in Bulgaria?😃
I remember there was some problem with the shower cabin then. But what hotel doesn't have a problem with the shower cabin or shower 😄(it's such a nightmare when you find yourself in a hotel like that, and most of them are like that). But it was a nice stay then, two nights in the cold and rain of October a few years ago.
Oh, and let's not forget the positive (and funny) news from the coastal floods: the safe of a local auto repair shop, full of money and gold(!!!), was swept away by the water, it broke and the coast is currently covered with "gold diggers" collecting money🤣

Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you. |
Personally, I am a sensitive soul with a strong sense of justice.
Traveling and photography are my greatest passions.
Sounds trivial to you?
No, it's not trivial. Because I still love to travel to not so famous destinations.🗺️
Of course, the current situation does not allow me to do this, but I still find a way to satisfy my hunger for knowledge, new places, beauty and art.
Sometimes you can find the most amazing things even in the backyard of your house.😊🧐🧭|
