The perfect timing
Last week, on the weekend, one of the national free-to-air television channels showed a movie. Oh, yes, on the weekend, on Saturday and Sunday, they always show movies. But what kind?
You've heard of a Sunday movie night, right? And you imagine that on the weekend, television should show something more interesting. Something to relax from the crappy week, right?
I think that was the case in the past, it was the case even in my childhood, I remember well, on Sundays they showed cartoons for children before the news and they didn't repeat them. After the news there was a political program and a movie. But I don't remember my parents ever sighing with annoyance: Oh, how many times are they going to repeat this series?
Because nowadays everything is repeated. Two of the free-on-air television channels that were once somewhat "on the level" have one, quite limited set of films that they repeat at a certain time and I already know that when the weekend comes I will say with annoyance: They've already shown this 15 thousand times.
I'm sure that in the past they had their own ways of controlling people's thinking, consciousness, actions and desires through television, and back then things were indeed more brutal than now, but somehow this feeling of being made a fool of was missing. That the viewer/audience wasn't important. That's why there's no longer any need to release new and interesting films, those that have already been shown 15 thousand times are enough for the mass of sheep, who aren't important anyway.
But last weekend was something different. I came across a movie that they hadn't aired.
I don't claim to be such a constant television consumer and that I know everything that has aired, but if after all these years I had never come across this movie, at least once, then it must be different. And it was. Or at least I felt it was.
The film is not super new, but for showing on Bulgarian television, it is quite new, usually we are exposed to older films, especially if they feature famous actors. It's called: Those who wish me dead. And it's from 2021.
Now you're probably wondering what impressed me so much about a movie starring Angelina Jolie.
And I'll tell you right away - the violence. The brutal, almost senseless violence in most of the scenes. That made a big impression on me.
Maybe the current situation and time we live in, last week we were on the verge of a world war, and now we've probably already crossed that threshold, the increasing military conflicts, etc., have made me even more sensitive and noticing certain things.
Maybe that's the reason, but I couldn't help but ask myself: Why are they showing this movie right now? To prepare us for the violence? To make us accept that we have to get used to it? To see that without violence we won't be able to survive?
Now you probably think I'm exaggerating. But you wouldn't think so if you already knew how television works.
I already question everything, everything that is shown on the news, as well as movies and shows. There are no random things that they show or say on television. Even news about irregularities or crimes, big scandals, have their meaning in showing or hiding, or showing at a precisely determined time for some political reason.
Last summer I told you about a brutal violence that erupted and swept away all the people in the country who came out to protest. Then it turned out that things were not the way they were presented. To this day, it is not even clear what exactly happened, but the political party, the people who used the situation for their own purposes, got what they wanted, made people do what they wanted, diverted their attention from other things, etc.
This year, another scandal erupted with two perpetrators of crimes. Then it turned out that these crimes had been known about for months, but the security services had done nothing, and the organization that was dealing with these investigations was politically connected as well. And then, one fine day, for some personal/political reason, this scandal broke out and these people were finally arrested. Why then? Why not months before, to prevent so many crimes?
That's why every scandal in the country has its reason and perfect timing. And usually, this scandal is not the most important one that happens in real time. That's why I ask myself this question every time - what is behind this, what are they hiding, what do they want to tell us with this, what do they want to make us think, what do they want to make us accept, what should we get used to?
So, why are we being shown a film with brutal violence, never shown before, when we are on the verge of a world war?

Personally, I am a sensitive soul with a strong sense of justice.
Traveling and photography are my greatest passions.
Sounds trivial to you?
No, it's not trivial. Because I still love to travel to not so famous destinations.🗺️
Of course, the current situation does not allow me to do this, but I still find a way to satisfy my hunger for knowledge, new places, beauty and art.
Sometimes you can find the most amazing things even in the backyard of your house.😊🧐🧭|
Maybe those who decide which movie to play were attracted to this particular one for the same reason it got your attention — current violent world.

I continue to believe that we are intelligent and socially aware enough to resolve our conflicts in an objective manner. I could also say: I cling to this idea. If I believed in a possible new world war, I wouldn't be able to cope. My value system can't take that step.
