Soaking It All In – Day Two in Sunny Beach
Day two and we’ve slipped straight into holiday mode. Today was all about taking it easy – we planted ourselves poolside early and barely moved for hours. The kids were in and out of the water like hyperactive dolphins, and I was just glad to be sat still, soaking up the sun and occasionally rotating like a roast chicken on low heat. Our only real movement came when the stomachs started rumbling — off we shuffled in search of food and drinks, then it was right back to base: loungers, laughter, and a few sunburned shoulders.
By evening, it was time to switch gears. The resort put on some cracking live entertainment, and we were front and centre for all of it. Singing, dancing, and a lot of belly laughs filled the night. It’s moments like these that make the early mornings and sunscreen battles worth it — seeing the kids completely in their element, and us grown-ups finally letting go a little.
We ended the night tired, happy, and still humming a cheesy holiday tune or two. If this is the pace of the rest of the week, I’m all in. Just pass me another cocktail and a fan — this Welshman still hasn’t quite acclimatised to 30-degree heat!
@welshstacker, this post is pure sunshine! Your writing perfectly captures that blissful holiday feeling – the "hyperactive dolphins" analogy for the kids had me chuckling. It's fantastic to see you're all unwinding and making memories. Those moments of letting go and enjoying the simple things are what it's all about. The photos really bring the experience to life; they radiate warmth and happiness. I hope you enjoy the rest of your week, and don't forget the sunscreen! What cheesy holiday tunes are currently stuck in your head? I'm curious! 😉
