Is there any protection for children on this item?

It looks as if the tip is treated with plastic and is safe.

Does this protect children from danger?

I think I can believe it's a Panasonic brand.

    Yes the blades are rounded as I saw on site

    The uniquely rounded blades and comb tips prevent scratching the skin.
