RE: Mooms - Flea market app for kids

in #steemhunt7 years ago

It's a good concept, but not unique - there are already other apps/websites which do the same thing.

I'm in the UK, so your country may be slightly different, but I'm pretty sure there are apps already out which cover the same features (although this app is dedicated).

If we're selling old clothes (the barely worn ones) or toys, my wife will use Facebook groups dedicated to mums (which are locally-based), or occasionally eBay. We also give things to charities or friends/family with younger kids.

We're lucky in that we don't have to rely on hand-downs from our friends/family, or shop for used clothes and toys, but we have had some friends & family give us un-worn, or barely worn clothes in the past, which we did use - because yes, they do grow so fast.

So I'd say, yes this app does have a space, but for it to be useful it'd have to be massively adopted, or there just won't be enough things on there (in your local area) to make it worth checking.

Nice hunt though - will have to keep an eye on the app (good luck).

Thanks, yeah some of friends in the uk have told me about this. Local council level communities are quite helpful there, as would be fb groups. However, dedicated app trying to target that niche is useful. We'll see whether it will be successful or not.

Charity shops in the UK are a blessing. I am sure that concept is present in most developed and rich countries in the west. It can't be there in developing ones.
