"Recipe of the Day, Week No. 69: (Okra Soup Recipe)"
It's another time of the day to explore through new flavors and master cooking techniques from @adylinah's food blog.
The recipe on the menu for 15-07-2025 was okra soup. There are many ways to prepare okra soup and this depends on the type of ingredients especially proteins. I love using goat meat in my soups but decided to try something different this week. I made used of beef intestine in order to give the soup different flavor.
Below are the list of complete ingredients used in making this delicious pot of delicacy and the preparation procedures;
- Okra
- Beef intestine
- Cow skin
- Pumpkin leaf
- Smoked fish
- Stock fish
- Fresh pepper
- Salt
- Maggi
- Onions
- Periwinkle
- Crayfish
- Palm oil
Preparation Procedures |

Use hot water to wash the beef intestine properly. Put them into the pot and season with onions, fresh pepper, maggi and salt.
Continue steaming by adding cow skin and stock fish then add periwinkle after 5 minutes.

Pour palm oil (red oil) into the steamed protein and continue to boil.
Add other ingredients like; salt and maggi then a cup of water. Water should depend on the quantity of okra.
Add fresh pepper and the smoked fish.
Allow the ingredients to boil together before adding crayfish.
Pour in the okra and allow it to boil.
Lastly, add sliced pumpkin leaf ( green vegetable) to make it more color, healthy and balanced.
