Unique Recipe: Unripe Plantain Porridge
Welcome to my unique recipe blog. Today, I have some delicious delicacy prepared in the most simplest way to share with y'all. Yes! It's a recipe of plantain porridge and of course, I made use of the healthiest form of plantain ( unripe) to prepare this recipe.
Unripe plantain or you can call it green plantain has been among the stars when it comes to healthy food. A good ingredient that is rich in minerals, carbohydrates, dietary fiber, vitamins and of course has a low sugar content. Plantain is just one of a kind; low in sugar when unripe and high in sugar when ripen. What a great uniqueness in every form! We can call it a powerhouse of nutrients

This is just something that helps us become flexible in the kitchen when we can prepare it boiled, roasted/ grilled, pounded/ mashed, fried, porridge and also use it as thickener in soups.
Now let's proceed to the recipe before moving to health benefits.

- Onions
- Smoked fish

Preparation Procedures |

Wash the plantain, peel and cut into pieces. Make sure it is in uniform to avoid some getting softer than others.
Add sliced onions, cow skin and smoked fish to the plantain.

Add water but it should depend on the quantity of your plantain then cover the pot to boil.
I monitored continuously; when I noticed that the water level has reduced, I added salt, maggi, fresh pepper and palm oil then cover the pot to continue boiling. At this stage, please taste the plantain first for softness before adding ingredients.
Add crayfish and stir. Boil for just 3 minutes.
Pour vegetable leaf into the pot and cook for just 40 seconds.
My delicious delicacy was ready in one hour time and was served with love.
