The dairy game (24/08/2025) A Quiet Sunday at Home
Hello my steemain friends
This is @anny01 from Nigeria.
Morning Activities.
My street every Sunday morning, it always calm
Sunday started differently for me. Unlike most people who woke up early to prepare for church, I had already decided that I wasn’t going anywhere that day. Because of that, I allowed myself to sleep in a little longer. By the time I finally opened my eyes, it was already late in the morning.
There was no rush to get out of bed, but eventually I got up and moved into my usual morning routine. I brushed my teeth, washed my face, and tidied up my space. Even though I woke up late, I still wanted to feel fresh and organized.
As I moved around the house, I realized how peaceful it was to have a slow Sunday morning. The streets outside were calmer than usual, with only a few sounds of distant cars and the occasional voice of children playing. I took my time with everything, not hurrying as I normally would on a busy day.
Before I knew it, it was already 1 o’clock in the afternoon. That’s when I decided to take my bath and dress up because I had to step out to the market.
afternoon Activities.
ust before heading out, I felt a little hungry. Since I didn’t want to eat something heavy before going to the market, I decided to have some fruit first. It was light and refreshing, and it gave me enough energy to move around without feeling too full.
After that, I grabbed my bag and made my way to the market. The sun was shining brightly, and the streets were alive with activity. Vendors called out to customers, displaying their goods—fresh vegetables, spices, meat, fish, and all kinds of items. The market was noisy and busy, but there was also something lively and colorful about it.
I walked around slowly, picking out what I needed. My main plan was to buy everything I needed to make stew for the day. Tomatoes, peppers, onions, and some spices were top on my list. As I moved from stall to stall, I bargained with the sellers, making sure I got good prices. Carrying the small bag of groceries in my hand, I felt satisfied that I had exactly what I needed.
By the time I finally returned home, it was already 3:20 in the afternoon. Without wasting any time, I went straight into the kitchen and began preparing my meal.
Cooking took longer than I expected. I washed the tomatoes and peppers, blended them, and began frying them slowly with onions in hot oil. The aroma started filling the entire house, making me hungrier as I worked. I added spices, stirred carefully, and allowed the stew to thicken. I also prepared rice on the side, making sure it cooked just right.
Time passed quickly, and before I knew it, it was already 5:30 pm. The food was ready, and my kitchen smelled wonderful.
evening Activities.
By the time I was done cooking, it was already evening. I decided to take my bath again before sitting down to eat. The day had been hot, and the cool water was refreshing after moving around the market and cooking for hours.
Finally, I sat down with my plate of food and ate slowly. The taste of the fresh stew was worth all the effort I had put in. I enjoyed the meal so much that I felt very full and satisfied. But the fullness came with tiredness.
After eating, I became so heavy and tired that I couldn’t even get up immediately. I just stayed there, resting for a long while. My body felt completely drained, and I knew I didn’t have the strength to cook or eat anything else that day. That one big meal was enough for me.
Later in the night, I lay down with my phone and started watching trending videos online. I scrolled through social media, laughing at funny clips, reading comments, and keeping myself entertained. Time passed quickly as I continued with that, and before long, it was already late at night.
I realized that I had only eaten once all day, but somehow I wasn’t even hungry again. My tiredness was greater than my appetite, and I knew I would just rest until the next day.
Reflections
My Sunday was quiet and simple. I didn’t step out much, except for the market, and I didn’t attend church as many people did. Instead, I allowed myself to rest, move slowly, and do things at my own pace.
Even though I only ate once, I was satisfied because I enjoyed the cooking process and the meal itself. Sometimes, days like this calm, uneventful, but restful are exactly what the body and mind need.
I ended my Sunday grateful for the peace it brought. It wasn’t about rushing or being overly productive, but about enjoying each moment slowly.
Thank you for your time
I really appreciate
