Homemade Ginger Chili Ketchup

I am pleased to be a participant of Week 03 of Steemit Engagement Challenge Season 27. The theme of this week is indeed thrilling as I will be presenting how to prepare the Ginger Chili Ketchup, which is a tasty and spicy homemade ketchup sauce that gives any food the ideal touch. I would hereby like to wish to thank the heart of my heart to @afzalqamar who arranged this amazing contest, and we got a chance to demonstrate our ability in the kitchen.
🔹Tomatoes: ½ kg
🔹Vinegar: 2tbsp
🔹Chopped Ginger: 1 tbsp
🔹 Red Chili: To taste
🔹 Sugar: To taste
🔹Chopped green Chili: 1 tbsp
🔹Tamarind paste: 1 tbsp
🔹Salt: To taste
🔹 Oil: 1 tbsp
🔹Water: ½ cup

let’s start the recipe:
Step 1
What I did was to wash the tomatoes first using fresh water. I took out the tomatoes a few minutes before making the ketchup as the tomatoes were stored in the fridge and therefore required time to be put at room temperature. I then cut the tomatoes to small pieces in order to make them cook easily.

Step 2
Then I heat a pan and put tomatoes that I chopped in with approximately a cup of water. After that, I left the tomatoes to cook on a low heat probably 7-8 minutes. After they got soft and cooked I turned off the stove and allowed them to cool down a little.

Step 3
I then blended the cooked tomatoes till smooth, the more you blend the smoother the ketchup. The mixture was then mixed, and then I filtered it through sieve to eliminate skins and other hard particles.

Step 4
In the meantime, I chopped the ginger and green chilies into very fine pieces. I boiled a low quantity of cooking oil (1 tablespoons) in one pan and then added the chopped ginger and green chilies and fried them few seconds. Then I added tomato paste and left it to cook further 2-3 minutes.

Step 5
I too now put in the ketchup red chili powder, salt and sugar, tamarind pulp and vinegar. I added tamarind pulp because I love the tangy flavor. if you are not like tangy flavor you can skip it. I mix the ketchup well, in a manner that it is not stuck to the pan. At the point where the mixture had attained appropriate consistency, I removed the burner.

Step 6
This was all the Ginger Chili Ketchup I needed to make! It was thick, yummy, and with the proper portion of tangy, sweet and spice as I like it. i hope you guys like my recipe.
