Hyponatremia is a condition in which blood sodium is low. It is always associated with some signs and symptoms like headache, blurred vision, muscle cramps and vomiting. A person who has excess is termed Hypernatremia which can lead to increase in blood pressure resulting in hypertension.

From this, you can see that, it is advisable to have a balance intake of salt, that is the reason this contest is necessary.

What type of salt do you usually consume frequently; table salt, sea salt or other type of salt?

Salt is a crystalline compound NaCl that is the chloride of sodium which is abundant in nature and is used in kitchen for seasoning and food preservation.

Salt is one of the top kitchen ingredient.To have a delicious taste of healthy meals, you need salt. I can't imagine cooking delicious Edikan Ikong (Vegetables) without salt, it would be tasteless.

Here in my country, table salt is frequently use because it is always available, affordable and accessible. The reason thousands of people love and cherish table salt is because it has a fine texture, it can easily be sprinkle on different meals. It also has a natural flavour which it suit in meal.

Although, I also have and uses sea salt, I can remember that it is up to a year or some month now, since we use sea salt. We use it only when my family prepare Gourmet cooking but table salt is every day stuff.

Salt is great in reducing body inflammation and increase the production of immunoglobulins which are proteins that plays a key role in the immune response.

Salt helps to boost the immune system by supporting white blood cells, which is crucial for fighting infection.

Salt is essential for pregnant women. During pregnancy salt help to transport nutrients and oxygen to the unborn child aids in the development of the baby's nervous system and brain.

Are you aware that salt help in fast absorption of phosphorus and calcium? Also, that regular consumption of salt prevent goiter which is the enlargement of the thyroid gland? Yes, believe that salt have numerous health benefits.


✓ Is it easy to find salt in supermarkets in your country? What is its price on Steem?

Yes, it is very easy to find, in supermarkets and local shops here in Nigeria. Nevertheless, supermarkets and local shops has different varieties of salt and their prices is quite low compare to other items.

We can buy table Salt at the rate of #200.00 Naira approximately 0.8 steem depending on the size. It is very cheap and affordable.


✓ Do you have any special way of storing salt to preserve its properties?

Here in our country, salts are packed in sachets and some in plastic bottles well sealed and are of different sizes such that everyone can afford.

Anytime I buy salt at the supermarket or local shops, they sell it in a sachet form. As soon as I get home, I will empty it into a glass container. And store it. I store all my spices in glass containers with lids. I always put a small spoon inside, so that I will not mistakenly use a wet spoon and scup it.

✓ What trick do you use to correct excess salt in a meal?

Salt is an essential and common ingredients for cooking as one can not cook make a delicious meal without it. Nonetheless, if by mistakes or deliberate use in excess, it becomes unpleasant to mount and trying to desalinate the food may may bring more wahala. This is simple truth about salt as many people have negative experience of the said scenario. When happening, some resorted to applying excess water desalination.

But the best I usually do is to consider the quantity of meal I'm preparing and also the quantity of salt to apply. Better still, I usually apply Salt by bits until I attend to the actual taste.

The second method I use is adding cream, milk, and yogurt, which simply aid in the neutralizationThe second of salt in my dishes.

The last but not least is adding vinegar or juice, which helps to counter the saltiness.

Hello @dequeen, it is nice to read your context. The salt is a natural material for the provision of electrolytes and the balancing of fields in the body. Salt can be preserved or stored by ceiling it in a circuit all container especially in a cone and dry place. You are actually right that the price of salt in Nigeria is not cost, in my area a packet of salt is sold for 600 naira.
