I love your contest especially if you eat chickpea salad, you will not feel hungry for a long time. Therefore as you can see we have stroked everything that we need to make such items. But we are vegetarians so it's chickpea minus chicken.

 
Chickpea salad contains protein and fiber, which help in controlling hunger. We all know that protein and fiber slow down digestion, which reduces hunger. I love eating chickpea salad for lunch as it's very beneficial for me who eats a heavy breakfast.

I read your lesson carefully and followed the instructions even if I make this recipe often but add few more ingredients.

Chickpea salad, is undoubtedly one of the most popular salads which can be used as staple food for all and sundry. We often prepare this dish in India as well as in Australia. Chickpea salad is full of health and nutritious ingredients which not only enhance digestion but keeps your body away from unnecessary fat. I can eat it for lunch and diner as a staple food.

 

The ingredients of the salad:

  • Chickpeas: I soaked them previous night and then boiled an hour before making this salad as you said this is the main ingredient in this salad.

  • Baby Cucumber: its tasty as well having more freshness and makes this salad even more fulfilling.

  • Baby Tomato: provides a great taste and of course a different taste.

  • Onion: a must ingredient.

  • Paprika: adds a crunchy texture.

Additional ingredients: I use

  • Olives: Great for digestion and adds a tangy flavor.

  • Avocado: I love it as my regular item for its various health benefits and it makes the salad more nutritious.

  • Green Pee/baby corn : Taste and quantity besides health benefits

  • Nuts: adds richness and crunchiness.

I did not participate in previous salad contest one but the fourth week of the course, has this wonderful chickpea salad which is one of my favorite like Russian salad so here I am. I love it for its rich in health benefits that I consume in lunch as staple food.

My "Chickpea Salad Recipe"

Base ingredients:

*150g of boiled chickpeas
*1/2 onion
*4-5 baby tomato
*2 Baby cucumber
*Broccoli
*Couple of pieces of red and green bell pepper
*Cottage cheese 50 gm
*Kale leaves to taste
*Ginger small piece
*Black berry 8
*Strawberry 1
*Coriander leaves

For Seasoning:

*1 tbsp olive oil
*1 Salad sauce I use tamarind sauce
*I could have used honey but I like it without honey
*Black Pepper to taste
*Salt to taste

Preparation:

We get everything prewashed but to make sure we wash everything under running water, and chop them in uniform pieces.

Preparation Step#1

Then we place them in a large glass bowl, starting with baby cucumber, baby tomato, bell pepper, onion, Curly kale leaves and parsley.

Preparation Step #2

Then we add the main ingredient the boiled chickpeas (we leave the a little raw). We are vegetarians but we keep tuna and eggs for our guests rather we use cottage cheese. Finally we mix them well and move on to next step.

Preparation Step #3

We heat olive oil in a pan, and mix them well for a few minutes

We add salt and pepper to taste and mix it.

Finally we mix everything, and once we know that everything is as per our taste and flavor, we keep them in refrigerate until we use it (Max 15 minutes).

Yes we often prepare chickpea salad so I can say it tastes great. More so as we keep changing ingredients to bring a different taste every time. It definitely meets our expectation when I added a few of your suggestions.

*As you can see I use a few different items which enhance taste as well as add nutritious value.

*I make sure I check the freshness and expiry of every ingredient as we always have everything in our stock. We get them prewashed from our foodchain yet we wash everything which are necessary before use.

*We keep them in refrigerator for 10 minutes to enhance the taste

Finally, I have learned a couple of tips from this contest and added them in my recipe but as a regular user I knew some of these beforehand.
