Let's Celebrate International Beer Day
It feels quite cool to contribute to this discussion, the topic is indeed interesting and I therefore joyfully welcome you to my blog. Let's get started.

Beer drinking is a well-loved pastime for a lot, providing a well-off experience that coalesces relaxation, socialization, and appreciation of flavor. Beer, with its history dating back thousands of years, has turned into an inherent part of numerous cultures around the globe. The variety of beers present today, ranging from complex ales to crisp lagers, is overwhelming, catering to manifold preferences and tastes.
🍻 Tell us a little about the most popular place in your city to enjoy this popular drink? |
---|
Aba, the Enyi Mba City, is a business center, place of fun, merriment, and the heart of the state of Abia. Regardless of the economic situation of the country, there is no cool evening you won't find people clustering at a joint and sharing the fun and pleasure of beer.
It is nearly impossible to say, state, or refer to a particular place as the most popular place to enjoy this popular drink. This is because there are hardly any streets where you won't find a place to enjoy beer. Hotels, beer parlors, lounges, spots, joints, etc. are all places where one can enjoy beer.
The best part of it is that everyone has a fitting place to enjoy beer which suits one's economic and social class. Besides the countless roadside and street drinking places, the following are some considerably popular drinking places in Enyi Mba City;
- De Aust, Old GRA
- House 14, Ekenna Road
- Hotel Terminus, Azikiwe Road
- Luxury City, Aba-owerri Road
- X-Empire, Ekenna Road
- El Dorado, Umungasi Road
- Celebration Bar, China Town, Abayi
- Kenko Point and Kill
- Pynke 360, Magret Avenue

🍻 What drink could replace beer for you at a gathering or celebration? |
---|
The drink that usually replaces beer for me at a gathering or celebration is Palm wine, popularly known as "Tombo" which in my dialect is "Maị-mini". While there are two categories of Palm wine, "Ngwọ" and "Nkwụ", Ngwọ is common, rampant, hence, easy to find and served alongside beer in celebration grounds, which can be taken with nkwọbi, ụgba, pepper soup, among others. Ngwọ, on the other hand, is sweeter, more expensive, and not easily found.
Palm wine is a drink that is naturally extracted, contains natural yeast without any artificial preservatives added to it which makes it nutritional and healthier for consumption.
🍻If you drink beer, what's your average consumption at a party? What's the cost of beer in your country in local currency and on Steem? |
---|
My average beer consumption, whether at a party or on any occasion, is only three 3 bottles of 330ml of Heineken. While the prices of beer vary from place to place, the lowest price of beer is ₦1,000, which is equivalent to 6.96 Steem. Heineken, which is my brand, is the least sold at ₦2,000, which is equivalent to 13.91 Steem.
🍻 What is the most popular beer brand in your country? |
---|
It is extremely difficult to say that a particular beer is the most popular in my country. This is because of the varied individual choices and preferences. While one may go with Heineken, another might choose Gulder. As a result, there are countless brands of beer in circulation in my country.

Star, Gulder, Heineken, Guinness, 33, Life, Hero, Budweiser, Legend, Tiger, Hero (popularly known as Oh Mpa), Star Ratlar, Trophy, Golden Guinea, Turbo King, Star Lite, Goldberg, etc.
Nigerian Breweries, Guinness Nigeria Plc, and International Breweries Plc are the brewers of these and other assorted beers in my country.
Beyond the taste, beer drinking, in addition, nurtures social connections. Sharing a pint with family or friends can give rise to lasting memories as well as strengthen bonds. In addition, a good number of beer enthusiasts delight in exploring local breweries, attending beer festivals, and gaining knowledge about the brewing process.
Whether you are a seasoned beer cognoscente or just beginning to explore the beer world, there is always something new to discover.
Cheers to the joy of beer drinking!
