Contest: The star appliance in your kitchen.
Hello to all the friends of the community! I am Italian and for me the kitchen is an indispensable part of the house, with an inestimable practical and emotional value! In my home kitchen I prepare all the food I eat daily, because I almost never go to a restaurant and I absolutely do not use delivery! I love cooking and I like the taste of simple and home-made foods. The kitchen is the place where I discuss with my wife the issues to be addressed and the projects to be carried out and where I welcome guests, offering a good espresso coffee!
Since I prepare food at home, it is important to have reliable and high-performance appliances.
A few months ago I replaced the methane gas hob with an induction hob from the Hisense brand and I could not have made a better choice!
Using it is very easy, just hold down the buttons on the control panel to give the commands (turn on, turn off, adjust the temperature); activating the gas knobs is a little more difficult and even the flame adjustment is not precise. The induction hob is safer, because once turned off, it cools down in 5 minutes and there is no risk of burning yourself or causing explosions, because a gas like methane can be explosive. Methane gas is a fossil fuel, destined to run out and which produces pollution, while the induction hob runs on electricity, which can be produced from renewable sources, such as the sun or wind.
I love my induction hob because it helps me save time in the kitchen: the pots heat up quickly and cooking times are reduced. Furthermore, I save time in cleaning, because the gas hob is more complex to clean, with its various elements to disassemble, wash and replace regularly, while the induction hob can be cleaned in a few seconds with a sponge!
There are also other advantages to using the induction hob: for example, the bottom of the pans and pots remains shiny and clean, because there is no flame to burn and blacken it; I also saved money during this period, because electricity is less expensive than methane gas!
The induction hob is made of a fragile material, similar to glass: therefore it can crack or scratch if it comes into contact with heavy or sharp objects. So you have to be a little careful and to avoid ruining it I bought a specific rubber protection, on which I can place anything when the hob is off.
I wish they would produce induction hobs that are more resistant to cracks and scratches, so I can use it with more peace of mind!
Since I like to make any sweet and savory dish at home, if I had an unlimited budget in my kitchen I would install a compact multifunction oven, with touch controls and a colored display, that can steam cook, keep food warm, that can reach high temperatures (optimal for example for cooking pizza) and with different cooking modes. I would like to buy an oven with a camera to check how the cooking is progressing and that is self-cleaning and able to eliminate residual odors. In short, I would like a high-performance and efficient oven that helps me to make any recipe I want to try!
