This week, I have brought another great recipe for the Contest: Recipe of the Day. Week No.69 contest organized by @mvchacin mam in the Steemit Iron Chef community. This week, I will share a Chinese vegetable recipe. Chinese vegetable is a healthy and delicious dish, which is easy to make. It can be served with hot rice or noodles. It is a delicious and colorful dish, which is quite popular in both restaurants and at home.

Ingredients required for the Chinese vegetable recipe:

Some important preparations for the Chinese vegetable recipe:

Step 1:

  • First of all, I have selected some fresh and colorful vegetables for a Chinese vegetable recipe. My selected vegetables include chichinga, butternut squash, papaya, and carrots. For a Chinese vegetable recipe, I cut the vegetables into thin slices. I gently peeled the butternut squash, keeping the green part, and then cut it into thin slices. This will make the vegetables colorful even after cooking.

Step 2:

  • I boiled the boneless chicken breast in a pot on the stove with three cups of water. After making the chicken and chicken stock, I put the stock into a cup and, once the chicken was cool, I distributed it with a slotted spoon to make it cookable.

Step 3:

  • Cornflour is very important for the Chinese vegetable recipe. I took 1 tablespoon of cornflour in a small bowl, then mixed it with normal temperature water and stirred it to prepare the mixture.

Preparation of Chinese vegetable recipe:

After preparing all the ingredients for the Chinese vegetable recipe, I went to cook.

Step 4:

  • Now to boil the vegetables, I heated water in another bowl on the stove, stirred it with a little baking soda, mixed it with the water, and added the chopped vegetables. After boiling the vegetables for about two minutes, I immediately removed them and put them in ice-cold water. Putting them in ice-cold water will not change the color of the vegetables even after boiling.

Step 5:

  • After draining them in ice water, I removed the vegetables to a bowl. The veggies' hue remained the same.

Step 6:

  • At this stage, I cooked the chopped ginger, chopped garlic, onion, chicken, chicken stock, black pepper powder, salt to taste, vegetables, green chilies, and a little sugar in the oil in the pan.

Step 7:

  • After mixing everything and cooking for some time, I added the mixed cornflour. When it thickens with cornflour, it should be served.

  • I served the Chinese vegetable recipe hot.

Some tips for cooking perfect Chinese vegetables:

  • For Chinese vegetable recipes, you should select vegetables that are colorful and cook in a short time, so that the vegetables will be attractive.

  • For Chinese vegetable recipes, you should wash the selected vegetables in clean water and cut them into pieces of the same size. This will cook all the vegetables evenly during cooking.

  • It gives the food a pleasant taste. Heat the oil and add the chopped onion, garlic, and ginger.

  • To enhance the taste of the vegetables, soy sauce, tomato sauce, and chili sauce can be added.

  • Season with pepper powder, sugar, and salt.

  • Put a lid on the vegetables and add a little water to ensure they cook thoroughly.

  • While serving, sprinkle onion sprouts or chopped coriander leaves on top and serve.
