Travel Philippines: Province of Southern Leyte
Philippines has a lot of islands and is composed of several provinces . One province that is close to my heart is the province of Southern Leyte . To get there you just need to take a plane from Manila to Tacloban and then take a van from tacloban to Southern Leyte (3hrs. approx.) One thing I love being in the province is the fresh air, fresh fruits and vegetables , nature and of course the local restaurants situated in the area . The warm smile of beautiful people always makes your day perfect.
What I love about this province is that it is not crowded with tourist everywhere . The best thing I love about here is the native restaurant that is situated in Sogod . La Caridad Gerona’s Farm is simply known for its restaurant in the un the middle of the owners ricefield.They serve the best native chicken and fresh organic vegetables and fruits straight from their farm. While waiting for your food to be ready you can chill to their balcony or take a little tour around the farm . To entertain yourself they have different kinds of flowering plants , animals , take photos or you can also ask the owner if you can fish some tilapia and let them grilled it for you .
If you are a kind of person who loves scuba diving and photography, this province will give you the best . There are some scuba diving resorts in the area . One of the best resorts that offer scuba diving is the Leyte Dive Resort . They have the best scuba diving sites . The staff are so accommodating and they will make you feel at home . They also serve some western and local cuisine . The owner speaks German, English, Bisaya and Tagalog. Their Dive master speaks French . If you love underwater critters like nudibranche then Leyte Dive Resort is the best place to scuba dive .
If you are not a diver still you can have some fun. Visiting waterfalls, caves , visit Limasawa island , swimming pools or just visiting the capital city of Southern Leyte which is Maasin City. You can still enjoy yourself in this province . Transportation is always available (buses, Jeepneys and tricycle) .
