RE: Steem Needs To Grab Unhappy Youtubers

in #steemit7 years ago

Back during the bull market we actually had a lot of YouTube personalities coming to the platform, the problem, though, was that it was all a bubble. Their rewards dwindled and people stopped paying much attention to them -- it simply didn't become worth it for them to post here.

Yeah but now is a better time as when the highs return they will already be fixed within the community

Unfortunately that all means nothing to them. They're already running their own businesses and have an established fanbase on multiple sites already.

Why not another one that has a lot more potential then the current ones? It really depends on the YouTuber and how much they need a change we should at least try

I think the largest we've had is @davidpakman. I've seen a lot come and go, and I think he's one of the few that's managed to stick around despite the market collapsing and rewards not being particularly high. If anything, we need to be supporting him and those already here, rather than attempting to add more.

hmmm I think a mixture of both, we cannot support them artificially

Yeah, it's certainly a complicated issue to address: they're already making a fair amount of money with brand deals/sponsorships, and we have to not only convince them to join and post here, but also convince their followers to also purchase Steem so they too can support them.
