A question to Ask Myself , How was i Hacked

My original account @chain-stats was recently hacked , and i am ashamed of myself as well as confused .

How was it Hacked .

I could not trace any events where my Active keys were exposed , I Could not find my Owner key (My fault) , My Active key was exposed to a memo Transferring steem to @justyy swap service , i did not initiate this .

Since the service expects Ethereum address in memo , the hacker might not receiving anything , Immediately Changed my Keys

After that a refund can be seen as expected because the Address Did not Match,

I Contacted @justyy to help with recovery and thanks to his quick response , recovery process was started . But Sadly the steem keychain i had only stored memo / posting and active keys , and i could not find the Owner key. I think i have Lost the Account now.

I have also Requested @justyy to hold payments if the hacker happen to use his service once my power down arrives on 2025-08-11, Thje hack happened on 2025-08-4 .

I used to do Automated posting of steem reports based on data of steemdb , and sometimes make posts on other topics as well.

@chain-stats has financed my multiple vacations and i am very much attached to it . But no wonder this happened .

I use steemkeychain by @faisalamin , steemit for posting off topic contents and used steemlogin by @future.witness a few times , I believe all these services could be trusted , but its a mystery how my account keys were exposed . Hopoing other steemians can learn something and keep your Account Safe
