I have voted many times for many artists and other creators of original content..... A Robot like @sadkitten could never know this....I have brought many new artists and photographers to Steemit via several Facebook Groups that I manage.. i have limited internet access these past 2 weeks and just posting and upvoting my photography when I am near a tower. A downvoting Robot would not understand this....

It's an automatic bot that calculates how much a person self-votes vs how much they vote for others. Voting for others will stop it. It's not my bot but that's how it works.
I know, i was just trying to say that @sadkitten algo works on a self vote percentage of 85%? at the moment, after it has got rid of all those people from Steemit, it will no doubt reduce to perhaps say 80%.. then 75% ... then... 70%... then 5%?

Something like that. I can't see it rationally going under 50% at the very least since that'll beat the point. There are better ways for it to act. For example, if it instead finds all those people who upvote others' posts at 0.05% and then their own comments in them for 100%.
Yeah good point re: 50% I did a little research and have changed my mind, I now think that they will probably not attack people under 85% due to a well known whale that sits at this level of self votes.

That's not correct. It will maximally down vote with 85% votes. The criteria for being identified as a high self voter are frequently self voting yourself during the previous week and not voting for others very much or at relatively much lower strength.
It's unlikely it will need to be stopped any time soon but we're refining the algorithm as we go. Recently I added greater strength to the mitigating factor of outgoing votes so a nice percentage outgoing should make you invisible to sadkitten.
Also not that, as I have said many times, SteeemReports.com is not accurate and not a good yardstick for knowing yourself votes.
A vote, any vote should come freely and from the heart and not forced under the point of a gun, trying to force people to vote on something when they does not wish to is wrong and it forced by and only done by control freaks and look up the definition of control freak it fits the sadkitten bot.
Down votes are not violence. No one is forced to do anything, your metaphors are all over the place. We vote against the highest self voters, and we don't even fully counter further self votes, we only down vote to 85%.
Everyone is free to vote as you say, recognize that works both ways.

It's not right to say sell sell sell. This is a relatively new decentralized concept with a whole bunch of different people with different ideas and very little guidance from any one entity. We just need to find ways for different approaches to work together.
as for control freak the definitions fits and as long as those types of bots are running around on steem downvoting on auto and or doing other wrong acts then steem will go down as people will revolt and leave and steem will be a very sad joke that no one wants any part of,
It's just one of those realities of decentralization. There's no one to revolt against, which is part of the issue. There's no centralization here. The more dialogue we establish between everyone the better for the ecosystem.
YES there is something as for the revolt if people make a choice to not to vote and not to post and not to have anything to do with steem then that is a revolt against it, and if there is no one to buy steem then the price goes in to the toilet, the bots have got to be done away with they are making people loose any hope that they may have in steem that is the point

IF all the bots that vote up and vote down where to be removed from steem then that would GREATLY re-establish every persons faith in steem for it will remove those who try to game the system and those that wish to use censorship against others

He can say what he likes, he has been unfairly attacked be two different law bots for what I suspect to be his political viewpoint.
Not one freedom loving person on here has stood up for him.
He has been adding fairly decent content and contributing to steemit for a long time by producing content and investing in steem.
After viewing some of his videos they are not spam & are actually very timely topics.

I'm not telling him what he can't say, I'm merely suggesting that mutual understanding is the future of Steem. If anyone is ever attacked by random bots or even random accounts they should feel free to reach out for help with a resolution. Myself and other long-term users are here to help where possible.

Hi, I'm the technical person(z) behind @sadkitten. I'm sorry to hear that you're powering down and leaving Steem because of the bot (although it doesn't look like you're following through?)
You were identified as a high self voter because of prolific posts (very frequent) with high self votes on them and very little outgoing votes. Despite what many posters here think, and no matter how many times I tell them, it's not about self voting percentage but about self voting behavior vs outgoing vote behavior**.
I hope you'll reconsider and stick around.
Yeah, I'm just a small time minnow here upvoting my original content and artwork with 20 cents so that eventually willI have more Steem Power to upvote other artists which I already do. Luckily a few very kind Steemit Witnesses showed me some Love (unlike @sadkitten which shows only hate to small time Steemit Minnows it seems) .... do you ever downvote @haejin or others that upvote their posts with $100 +++ ?
It doesn't really matter what you're going to do with it, as it stands you're only really benefitting yourself with your votes and you're in the top few dozen on the platform doing this regardless of SP. It's about the behavior, not the size of the account for @sadkitten. Everything is relative to stake on Steem.

HERE IS A STORY TO MAKE YOU THINK, Just imagine that you are a very young 6 year old child once again, and you go outside to play in your front yard , and on the side walk in front of your house you see a table and big sign next to it, it say's you get 4 votes each day, and you can only vote on one bowl once , and once to take a piece from the bowl that counts as a up vote.
So you look in each of the 4 bowls. in number 1 is you best , most favorite candy you always like, and in the number 2. is something you like to but not as much as number 1 and in the third bowl is something you do not like at all , and in the number 4 there is something you would never , never try because you dislike it so much.
so you decide and think well i do like the candy in the first bowl it is my favorite, and i short of like the thing is bowl number 2 and i will not vote for 3 and 4. and then you cast you vote by picking one piece of your favorite candy.
on each day you go out side , you see the table and you look at the 4 bowl, number 1 always stays the same it is you favorite candy and you make a vote by taking once piece, and in the other 3 bowls each day what is in the changes you never know what is inside them until you look .
this goes on for weeks the one day you see that after you make your vote for your favorite candy you look at the second bowl and you see that it has your favorite cookies so you vote for that one by taking one cookie, and the last two have things you do not like,
the next day you vote for your favorite candy by taking one and then look in the 2 bowl and see the cookies are gone and they where replaced by something you do not like and again the 3 and 4 bowl have things you do not like.
the next day you go outside to play you see that there are only 3 bowls on the table and people are standing around the table and they say to you. terrible things and then they start beating you a tiny 6 year child up, and then they take turns raping you , and you happen to see others are standing watching and cheering them on as the laugh and call you names saying how dare you vote for favorite candy each day and only vote once for something else , you scream out that vote was for my favorite cookie, and the men are done with you. they scream, know you have to vote for the others and then they leave,

The only thing to learn here is that the Steem community does not appreciate people who only upvote their own posts and comments. Maybe the guy adds a lot of value to some communities on Steemit, I don't know, but for the past 2 weeks 90% of his votes have been on himself:

Hopefully, he sees that it was a mistake and find other ways to use his Steem Power. I'm sure there are plenty of alternatives where he would actually earn a lot more.
Some of us Minnows Power up everything so that we can upvote our posts with 24 cents so that we eventually have more Steem Power to have more value in our upvotes for others... oh well.... wrong strategy.
I feel you. And yes I think it is the "wrong strategy" in the sense that I believe you would earn more SP by adding value to communities that in turn wants to reward you for your presence here.
At least I experienced when I came on that spending my quite irrelevant low SP (at the time) on others whilst giving it my best with my own content resulted in me getting votes that far outweighed what I could have gotten from self-voting 100%.

Must be the first time someone called me a whale. I guess I should be flattered. I didn't flag this post, I simply pointed out why it got flagged with my suggestion that he would make more on steemit with a different strategy than the one he is making. No reason to get upset about anything.
I am no fan at all of the people who only circle jerk. I do a lot to spread my own votes and are supporting many different communities both with my own account and with SteemPress. So I know very well that I do more for the community than most.
As for why I don't comment on these other blogs. Well, I choose to focus on where I can add value rather than complaining about others. Someone just happened to share this post with me and I felt the need to answer a guy's question.

Self voting is written into the code and is one of the few ways to earn a few cents when you are starting out and enjoying this incentive platform
Not all of us had the insight, fortitude and timing to buy steem for a few cents, many like me have invested a lot of money. Getting a few cents back is not harming anyone. When we have got a few bob, we can share more around!
There is only one law "do no harm to others" all other laws reduce our freedom.

the way to save Steemit isn't with bots, bots always fuck up. Trending is full of people upvotig themsleves for big bucks and you get downvoted for upvoting yourself for small change, it's bullshit. I saw a whale the other day who upvotes all his own comments for 15 dollars each, why isn't this bot going after that shit?
Best thing to do is to stay away from the trending page. There is some gems to be found in the new section.
