It's not just bots, but also whales taking $20 SBD payments for nondescript activity. Bots like minnowbooster do actually make you more than what you pay, I tried that once, and can't say that I lost. I'm split on voting bots, because this platform tries to be 2 things; 1 and investment and 2 a social media platform and there will always be someone that can buy their way in with $100K or more and start near the top. Then again, they paid for that.
I'm not saying that no money can be made, but I am pretty much done trying to police Steemit, and highly encourage those who are to just stop. So long as there are voting bots, people will post shit on Steemit and use upvote bots for it, and there's nothing we can do about it.
