Story: "The Lemon Tree"

in #steemit7 days ago

After years of saving, Amina finally bought a small house with a patch of land. In the corner stood a frail lemon tree—bent, leafless, almost forgotten. Her neighbors suggested cutting it down, but Amina refused.

Each morning, she watered it, whispered to it, and cleared the weeds around it. Days turned into weeks, and still, nothing. But Amina kept believing.

One spring morning, a soft yellow bulb peeked out from a branch. A flower. Then more. And then—lemons! Golden, ripe, glowing in the sun.

Amina plucked one, sliced it, and shared lemonade with the neighborhood children. Laughter echoed across the fence. Strangers became friends.

Years later, her garden was filled with fruit trees, benches, and children playing. That once-dying lemon tree became the center of joyful gatherings.

It wasn’t just about the fruit. It was about hope, patience, and the joy of watching something bloom under care.
