RE: BuzzSteem Ep. 24 [Why UpVote Bots Must Go, Thunderclap, Account Policing and More!]
Honestly it wouldn't be the first time I've seen a platform like steemit come and go. Won't be the last either. Voting bots do need to go though. I checked into a few of them because a steemit blog recommended it and so I looked through them. I don't find how they're beneficial in the long term, it's best to only upvote content you personally enjoy and if you didn't get any benefit at all from it, simply keep your vote for the next person that can accomplish that task.
I totally agree! I have read all of these formulas for how to make the most you can in curation rewards by upvoting certain content, and I have ZERO desire to do that. If I want to upvote a dmania meme because I think it's funny, I will do so even if it doesn't help my SP or gain me curation. There are more important things!
The way that I personally look at it, this is just yet another social media site and people create content on Facebook, Twitter and now even YouTube without any monetary reward, so I just do what I do there over here. Best strategy. The issue arises though with most people when there is money to be made in using the platform they'll do anything to game the system to their favor, including using bots.
Take ViewBotting on YouTube for example, was very common about 10 years ago.
