RE: Fractured community... Can we build bridges?

in #steemit9 years ago

Really? I don't go in chat, but from what I've seen on the block chain, the "free money" aspersion comes from authors and investors who want free access to the information that voters provide. And I have the same reaction to them as your closing statement.

The only way I can imagine to bridge the gap between groups is to back up from the specific issues that are so contentious for a while, and focus on working out some social norms for decision making.

I posted about this here a week or two ago.

thanks I will be reviewing that in some detail. I gave it a quick look and initially think it looks informative and has potential. I went ahead and resteemed it though it is days old because it is well put together and it will make it easier for me to get back to it. :)

I prefer to do everything in chat, but some things happen only on steemit.chat which is where I heard what this article is about, other things are talked about on various discord channels.

As an outsider to chat, every time things blow up there and land back on the blockchain, it just seems toxic to me.

Yeah I wish it could remain all on the blockchain. One problem is that these discussions often involve some of the most powerful accounts in the steem ecosystem.
